Comfort Life news roundup for Friday the 13th

Is Friday the 13th bad for your health? I have an uncle who swears he doesn't take his head out from under the covers on this day. He must have paraskevidekatriaphobia. The fear of Friday the 13th may date back to ancient Babylon where their list of laws skipped the number 13 but it really took off in the 20th century.

Don't drive on Friday the 13th?

According to a 1993 study in the British Medical Journal that compiled several years worth of data, significantly more people were admitted to the hospital in one region of the UK due to traffic accidents on Friday the 13th than on Friday the 6th.  Drivers were 52% more likely to land in the hospital as a result of a car accident on Friday the 13th!

If you believe that today is bad for your health, take heart. Our roundup reveals lots of great news guaranteed to make you feel good.

For example, did you know that swearing reduces pain, that one of the keys to happiness is the idea that no one has faults or that musicians actually maintain their hearing as they age? I wonder if that includes rock musicians?
