Below, please find our list of Independent Living Retirement Homes in Alberta.
Independent living retirement homes offer active, self-sufficient seniors community with others the same age and with many of the same values and abilities. Seniors choosing independent living can take care of their own needs but they may also choose to have meals provided (likely communally) and they may be provided with laundry services and linen delivery, along with collective planned activities. There are many independent living communities that provide transportation services to residents or community members.
Independent living retirement communities come in a variety of shapes and forms, including the following:
- suites or apartments in a tower
-
townhouse complexes
-
mobile homes or trailers
-
single residence bungalows clustered in a subdivision
While independent living community residents, as implied, need no assistance from others, these communities do not necessarily preclude the option of medical assistance. Residents may want to hire in their own medical help if they need it. Many independent living homes in Alberta (and elsewhere) may include handrails, pull cords and other assistive technologies and devices.
