Before you consider any retirement home seriously, you should consider its accreditation status with the Ontario Retirement Communities Association. Since there is no government regulation of retirement homes in Ontario accreditation from ORCA is one of the best signs that a home provides quality care and services. Note that lack of accreditation from ORCA does not necessarily mean that the retirement residence in question is poor in quality.
Health Care in Southwestern Ontario
London has several prominent health care facilities that serve the area including Windsor, Chatham, Strathroy, etc. These facilities include St. Joseph’s Hospital, the University Hospital at UWO, Victoria Hospital and South Street Hospital. London Health Sciences Centre is London’s largest employer, located at sites across the three latter hospitals. There is also a Middlesex-London Health Unit, the London Regional Cancer Centre and regional walk-in clinics.
Living in London
Local attractions and sites of note in London include Storybook Gardens, Victoria Park, the University of Western Ontario (UWO), also home of the Museum of Ontario Archeology. Grand Bend, about an hour outside of London, is one of the most popular beaches in Ontario.
