Assisted Living homes provide accommodation and varying levels of care and services in a residential setting. Seniors are given help with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) such as bathing, dressing and routines. Services include meals, social and recreational programs, 24-hour emergency response, laundry, housekeeping and medication. Nursing services may or may not be provided. Such facilities are meant for seniors who are independent and do not need constant nursing or medication.

All care homes include three meals a day, snacks, 24-hour nursing and emergency response, weekly housekeeping, recreation and physiotherapy. A nursing home provides the highest level of care outside of a hospital.
