The Richmond truly brings superior retirement care home to Belleville and Quinte Region seniors. It's an elegant oasis of calm and care right on North Front Street downtown. One of the things this community is very good at is helping community members transition from their traditional home to life in the community. Personalization is the key. Community members bring whatever personal belongings they want, to decorate their suite. But what makes the change a blessing is the response of staff. All of your questions are answered in a forthright, helpful manner, and everyone finds a way to help you feel at home here.
Choice and selection also abound, when it comes to the dining menu and the activities available here. If the variety of food choices is just right, there's also abundant quality found in those selections, especially the entrees. The schedule of weekly activities gives seniors fun things to look forward to doing together every day.

Who are you as a community?
Belleville is Ontario’s best kept secret, with the Quinte region being identified as one of the best areas in Canada in which to live. Only an hour and half east of Toronto and 40 minutes west of Kingston, The Richmond’s central location in Belleville makes it easily accessible to all amenities; banks, stores, and restaurants, and is on a bus route for our residents’ convenience. You will experience a feeling of warmth and friendliness the moment you step through the doors. Enjoy dinner with friends in our newly renovated dining room. Join in for a group outing, fitness class or learn a new hobby. Or, if you prefer to find a quiet spot to read or people watch, you can do that to. Retire at the end of a full day into your well-appointed, comfortable suite and rest up for the next day!

What do you do differently or uniquely well?
The Richmond offers boutique style retirement living in the heart of Belleville. Centrally located close to shopping and outside amenities, The Richmond has been part of the community for almost 40 years. The legacy of care is well known in the community and showcased through the legacy of our staff with the average tenure for our team members being more than ten years. Inside, The Richmond has a number of common areas to socialize and enjoy with your neighbours.
What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?
Prior to admission, each resident meets with our wellness team to review their personal needs. Our dining service and recreation team meet with all new residents within the first two days of move in to ensure they are made to feel welcome. We also have a resident ambassador program where we partner new residents up with our ambassador for a welcome to the home, tour, and overview of life at The Richmond, from a resident's perspective.

The Richmond has been a fixture in the community for many years, but when you walk in it is modern and well appointed. There is a strong sense of family when you are here.

Susanne Lachapelle
Susanne Lachapelle has been in the retirement field for over thirteen years. She began her career in the Ottawa Valley in a dual role overseeing Sales & Marketing, and Recreation. Within one year of entering the field, she was promoted to General Manager. In this role, she has managed several homes ranging in size from 45 suites to over 225. She is accomplished in the industry with multiple awards and recognition for her team’s strength and accomplishments.
Her peers describe her as energetic, enthusiastic, and driven by the pursuit of excellence in customer experience and employee engagement. Her love for people resonates through her work, and she is passionate about helping her residents and team members have an extraordinary experiences every single day.
