Seniors bask in simulated sunshine at Briton House

Comfort Life stopped by The Briton House Retirement Centre in Toronto recently to experience the Soleira Sun Simulator. The simulator duplicates summer sunshine on demand without the sun's harmful rays.

In the "Thai Breezes" room at Briton House, residents squish beach sand between their toes, listen to waves crashing on the shore (in surround sound) and bask in the warmth of 27 degree celsius temperatures.

For those who can't go south during the winter or get outside very often the room is a great help.

The simulated sunshine and beach environment improves residents quality of life by energizing them and brightening their moods on these cold, dark Winter days. It also helps residents who have memory loss or Alzheimer's to sleep better.  All that and a Tiki bar too!
