This is an amazing place. My father was only here for Respite care for 7 days but it was amazing care. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and take care of your needs. The staff are great! The residents are great! I would definitely recommend this home. It is in a beautiful setting. You feel like you are in the midst of nature and I would gladly retire here.

There are no words to accurately describe the caring support I [got here]. All the staff ... no matter what their role [helped] and I would like to thank them very much ... What a happy place!

So far [since 2017], we have a had a good experience here. We are very thankful.

[We chose it] because of the beautiful facility, great menu and activities. It wasn't until Mom was there for a couple of weeks that we became aware of how caring and engaged all the staff are. The housekeepers, food staff, front desk clerk [and all others] engage residents with cheerful banter and suggestions for a fun day at the Manor. We could not have made a better choice.

My mother recently stayed in respite care at VIVA Whitby Shores following her knee replacement surgery. She was very pleased with her experience; the staff here are incredible!! From the moment we walked in, they were so warm & welcoming. And throughout her stay, the Wellness Team were quick to respond to her needs, help her move around her room, deliver ice for her cooling machine; whatever she needed was taken care of for her. I knew she was in good hands throughout her full 2 week stay, and to be honest, now that she’s back home she misses the service ... We would highly recommend VIVA Whitby Shores to friends & family.

My mother moved into Whitby Shores in June 2020. Given the Covid pandemic there were understandably a few restrictions but the staff have been tremendous at welcoming her and ensuring she settled in quickly. They are truly thoughtful and caring! ...If you are considering a retirement community I would highly recommend that you visit Viva Whitby Shores and give them an opportunity to introduce you to what they have to offer.

My parents moved into VIVA Whitby Shores in early March, just after they opened and just before the pandemic. Our experience thus far has been exceptional to say the least. The facility is beautiful, but the key to it being exceptional is the staff. They truly care about the residents and they obviously love their jobs. Their main concern during the pandemic has been the safety of everyone, but at the same time, making sure there were lots of activities and excitement to keep everyone occupied.

If you are looking for the perfect retirement community in Durham Region, look no further. Absolutely beautiful facility with well appointed suites and marvelous common areas, professional, supportive and compassionate staff, and exceptional lifestyle options. My Mom has lived here since its opening six months ago, and even though there have been challenges brought about by COVID, the staff have exemplified the five values of VIVA: Be a friend; Make it better; Love what you do; Work as a team; Have fun! Staff [have done] everything within their power ... Common spaces [here] are gorgeous ... the food is restaurant quality under the direction of their creative executive chef and staff. The leadership team is thoughtful and kind.
