For all of the features onsite, it's the people that make this truly great. Mulberry PARC broadcasts itself as "a welcoming community" and that's truly a focus. The knitting group is just one example of a friendship circle (a "great group of ladies," says one member) within the larger community. Ideal for families from Burnaby and New Westminster, and for seniors who want to be closer to family here, it's a spectacular retirement home experience. Here, it's easy to pursue previous passions or try out new interests.
Among Vancouver retirement homes, Chelsea Park is a uniquely homey, comfortable environment offering striking value for anyone 55 and older. It’s a boutique-style retirement community, less formal than some other retirement residences, but with much of the vibrancy you’ll find in more expensive communities. With respect to the activities and amenities, you’ll find everything you need to make days complete.
We keep very busy here. When people say they're bored, it's because they're not doing anything. Here, there's always something to do.
[Knitting-For-A-Cause, one weekly group] is a wonderful social time ... [some members] would say to me they hadn't knit in years and I decided to change that. It brings them out of their suites and out of their shells. Their disposition improves.
There's lot to do here. I really appreciate the flexibility and freedom here because I've always been very busy in my life.
We are very proud of the Chelsea Park staff and the warm and caring community that they have created in this small spot near Trout Lake Park.
Thanks so much for the care you and your team gave to my mother while at Chelsea Park. I was not expecting such a great experience. We looked at the places that charge double the cost of your facility does so we were expecting to lower our expectations since we could not afford the other places. But much to our surprise you were so much better than we could’ve ever experienced at any other place, simply the best. I think it is because of your genuine care and attention to my mother and all of the other residents under your management. I honestly found that the rest of the staff were very good but somehow you were a shining like that made me feel like I was leaving my mother with a loving family member who really cared about her. You were professional and caring to the maximum degree. I also found your son to always greet us with a smile and always went out of his way to help us. Thanks for making the moving out process just as great as the moving in and staying process. Our new place is good since it is subsidized and will make the transition to a nursing home easier as my mother deteriorates with time and age but we already miss Chelsea. If there is anything I can do to make sure your hard work is appreciated by your manager/employer at any time please let me know. I know you do what you do because it is just your nature and you do not expect to be rewarded, but you deserve to be recognized for doing much more than what most people would do in your position and with genuine care.
If you want a friendly place, not too formal, this is the greatest place to be. I would never want to go anywhere else. I would recommend this to anyone. I would recommend it to anyone.
You couldn’t ask for any better service than the girls that work in the dining room. The chef is also wonderful. Bus trips to different places are also very enjoyable.
We felt very uncomfortable about moving to the city, but you would never know we are in one. We walk across the street to places we call the ‘People Beach’, the ‘Dog Beach’, and the ‘Duck Bench’ at Trout Lake. At our new home we get lunch & dinner served in the attractive dining room. The staff are very good at remembering what people can and cannot eat. We are very happy here and cannot imagine living anywhere else. We get our suite cleaned once a week. I feel very spoiled. I would advise anyone looking for a place to live, “Come to Chelsea Park you will be very happy.”
At Mulberry PARC, we’ve paired luxurious suites with modern home comforts, and close-knit locales with fun communal spaces. It’s a comfortable, connected and vibrant place to live, with everything you need at your fingertips. You’ll catch the vibe the moment you walk through the door. Located on Acorn Avenue in Burnaby across from HighGate Village Mall, Mulberry PARC provides easy access to shops and services, transit, Edmonds Seniors Centre, Eastburn Community Centre, library, parks, medical facilities, churches and banks.
