Thirty days in Applewood, Peterborough, Ontario provided me with exactly the R&R I most needed after hip surgery. The professional nursing and PSW care available to me were enormously reassuring. The meals were excellent. I enjoyed a serviced, spacious, and comfortable room with bathroom and balcony at an affordable price and the opportunity to exercise regularly both inside and outside the building in a safe and delightful environment. My good fortune to recuperate among others in a situation like mine as well as to socialize with interesting long-term residents, added to my satisfaction and education. All staff at Applewood are welcoming, caring, efficient, patient, and courteous. I am delighted to have made the decision to spend 30 days here. Applewood’s services, activities and facilities guaranteed simpler and faster recuperation for me and, of equal importance, essential reassurance, relief, and respite for my wife! I highly recommend Applewood and its attentive and conscientious staff for post-surgery rehabilitation.

Mom has lived at Applewood for 7 years & it has been her home where staff are kind & caring, going beyond their job descriptions to help whoever needs it. All the staff, from top to bottom, have kept their residents safe during the Covid epidemic but also tried to make life interesting & fun in spite of all the extra work they've had to do. Applewood is at the top of any list of long term homes anywhere as far as we are concerned!

Since moving my dad into Applewood a few years ago we have had constant peace of mind knowing that he is well taken care of and yet has his independence. The staff at Applewood have always gone above and beyond to ensure a wonderful place for everyone. I now have other family members living at Applewood and we would highly recommend this residence to anyone.

My Mother has made friends, both with other residents and staff. She's happy and this is where she wants to live... Mother is well looked after and that the staff treat her as family.

We toured all of the Peterborough retirement residences when we were looking for a spot for my father. Applewood immediately felt warm and welcoming. We have never regretted the decision. They have provided a home-like atmosphere, with caring staff, and plenty of activities for those so inclined. The management response during this COVID pandemic has been nothing short of heroic.
