When you first pull into the Livita Barrington, it feels like a drive into a secluded, well-maintained estate. The setting is peaceful and calming, next to a private school, in an area populated by mature trees. For people making a move later in life, if that setting feels welcoming, it’s merely the basis for the warm, friendly community that you’ll find here. This is a move into a new home that truly feels homey.
We’re excited by new developments like this one, places that take all the best of contemporary retirement living expertise and put that all under one new roof. This will offer people an opportunity to create a new life in a new environment.
It’s easy to imagine that this community will have a number of idyllic qualities. They’re experts at facilitating excellent staff teams, and like other communities, it promises contemporary, spacious suites and living space. Its proximity to Shanty Bay and the expansive beachfront park there is just one more appealing aspect.
On behalf of our Mother, Audrey Sanderson, we would like to thank all the staff at the Barrington for being so supportive to our Mom. It was a very trying time for her & us. All the staff went above & beyond helping her settle in. At times Mom could be challenging & even though she was confused, she was happy & you could hear her sing "The Old Gray Mare." The Barrington makes you feel at home & everyone does their part to see that you feel that way.... We would not hesitate to refer The Barrington to anyone. Thanks to all of you.
... One last thank you to you and your staff for all the love and care you have provided mom in the past couple of years you are all true professionals!
Mom had an amazing seven years at the Barrington. It is hard to find words to express our gratitude in the care mom received and the love from her Barrington family. Our mom lived at the Barrington for seven years until her passing. The Livita Barrington is a lovely place to live. A community within a community. Their staff is kind, caring and compassionate. From Emily the G.M., whom is always open to talking to you. Joy and Christine meet you at the front desk and greet you like you are part of their family. Amee who provides amazing programming, Brad who makes sure that everything is ok. Glenda and her amazing team who took wonderful care of mom and guided us through mom's end of life journey. I can't say enough about the staff. Mom was safe, content and we knew that she was loved. We were appreciative of the level of care shown by all staff. Our mom was part of an amazing Barrington family.
My mother has been at the Barrington for almost 4 years ! She just loves it! I (we) family couldn’t be happier to know how well looked after she is. Emily the General Manger is top notch and has a wonderful team. Glenda the Nursing Manager goes above and beyond with her PSW team (glue to keeping all healthy ) the meals are healthy and and always a variety. Joy and Christine at the desk are always so happy and to assist in ANY issue. Amee the Activities Director is super, the energy and love she shares is unbelievable! The variety of entertainment and outings and crafts is super. She treats all the residents like there her own parents. I can’t say enough about the Barrington and the wonderful team!! Thank you!
At this time with COVID I would like to express how much gratitude for the admirable way you all “stepped up to the plate” to make a tough situation workable. You all put a smile on your face and yes I even heard a giggle here and there from the back of my room. So there will be no golden Emmys for you , only cheers and applause for such a job well done and let you know how glad I am I’ve chosen to live here.
We have been looking for a place for both my parents to live as they can no longer live in their 2 storey home. My mother has numerous medical needs and unfortunately Allandale was unable to take her at this time. Charlene is so caring and professional and even though they are unable to take in my mother they were upfront with the fact they couldn't take her in. We have toured the facility a few times and it seems like the staff are very caring and the residents and building are well cared for.
My mother who lives at Allandale asked me to post her delighted "Thank-You to James and all the staff!" for the lovely New Years Day dinner they hosted for all the residents. Many Thanks to James and the staff for their care. 2020 and 2021 held great challenges and the team at Allandale worked thoughtfully to keep everyone healthy and happy.
Thank you to everyone at Allandale for your warmth and kindness. From the moment I first visited Allandale it immediately felt like home. We all know we are surrounded by people who care about us. Your hard work and dedication is recognized and truly appreciated.
After experiencing a fall, my dad made the decision to downsize, sell his home and move into a retirement home. We dropped into Allandale Station and never looked back. We were given a thorough and informative tour of the brand new facility, and my dad was sold. This review is, admittedly, before his move - but the support we have received from the staff already has been amazing. Moving into a home is a difficult transition, but they've helped to make it as smooth and seamless as possible, including being flexible with move-in dates. I feel confident that my dad will be happy in his new home. *2021 Update - I have been extremely pleased with the Allandale Station’s conscientious response to the pandemic of the past year. My Dad had been happy at the home despite the restrictions that they (and all of us) have had to deal with. And living on the other side of the country, I’ve been grateful that he’s been kept safe. The staff at Allandale really care and I want to acknowledge their hard work during a difficult time.
Totally love my dad living at Allandale Station, and I know he truly is enjoying living there. The building is beautiful, but the entire staff make it amazing. Actually, I can't say enough about it.
