Queens Estate is an exceptionally well-organized care community, given its newness. We think that comes from Metta Lifestyles’ decades of experience offering senior care. Here, you’ll find a cosy, familiar environment, comforting to those needing assistance or dealing with symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. It’s unique among area retirement homes in offering of a range of care options. Aside from personal assistance and memory care, the variety of stay options includes convalescent and guest stays as well as the provision for hiring your own home care. The setting here is very inviting.
Baycrest Terraces is ideal for people who love people. As part of the Baycrest Campus, you’ll be part of a dynamic community of people 55 and older. It’s a setting that fosters new friendships and a new perspective on aging well. Prices are reasonable, and you’ll enjoy interacting with the sparkling, standout personalities this community attracts.
Many thanks to the entire team for everything you do for our cousin Jeannine. She is very privileged to be so well taken care of, given the severity of her illness.
My mother has lived on the memory care floor at Queens Estate for nine months and is very well taken care of every day. The staff are kind and friendly and everyone from the PSWs who care for her to the chef in the kitchen know my mother and treat her with kindness and respect. Queens Estate was wonderful about procuring the covid vaccine and boosters in a timely fashion and maintains excellent hygiene to protect the health of all its residents. Most importantly, since moving in, my mother has been calm and content. There are many activities including art and music which she enjoys very much. Our family would strongly recommend Queen's Estate.
My mom started living again at 93 when she went to Queens Estate. She is constantly dancing and singing. She loves the food and the staff are so patient and accommodating. It takes a lot of pressure off me when I saw how happy she is. She's making new friends as well as becoming acquainted with old friends. I would definitely recommend Queens Estate to anyone.
My Father was a resident for 2 months while waiting for a Long Term Care placement. During my father's stay he was treated with compassion and kindness. I would personally like to thank Michelle, Ashley, Nico, Synthiya, Sarah, Tenzin, Jigme and the PSW's for always being supportive and helpful. I felt comfortable knowing that dad was being cared for by an exceptional team.
My mom has been with Queen’s Estate for six months. Her move there happened quickly after a hospital stay and she was welcomed with open arms. She needs a lot of care and her every need is met or exceeded. Sarah, Jigme, Temi, Vivian, Tenzin and Amy, among many others are warm, kind and generous and provide detailed person dare down to musical preferences, manicures and specialized personal care. I was hesitant to leave her there as I am sure everyone is and she was warmly embraced and cared for from day one.
The front lobby is very inviting…There's a really nice gathering space, a big assembly room for main events. There is a large dining room that has a terrace… There's a room called the Fireside Lounge where activities take place. There's a synagogue on the main floor… There's a really beautiful greenhouse and that's one of my favorite places to hang out. The greenhouse is always open and it's a very peaceful place… There are gym and pool facilities… There's an art room. There are yoga classes. [There are also] lots of group activities ranging from movie nights in the assembly room to, in the summer, there are ice cream socials and a barbecue. There are Yiddish classes. There are concerts every week. Really a range of things! There are lots of games… Bridge and Rummikub and Scrabble. And really nice grounds outside to walk. There's a beautiful walkway and it's very peaceful. People here pretty look out for each other, and if there's somebody new, they invite them to go to dinner with them or outside… the welcome couldn't be warmer.
It's a nice place to live. You're well taken care of… If you have a problem, there’s [always] a nurse. So, it may be a minor thing [and] you don't have to call the doctor. The nurse might just be able to help you, or the nurse will be able to contact the doctor. Baycrest [is] a nice place to settle. For us, the important thing was that it was kosher. We wouldn't go to a place that was not. I join whatever is interesting. I go to exercises. I belong to the book club. We have musicals which people enjoy very much… We have a lovely garden outside. Now that summer is here, we go out for walks. There, you meet people… it’s up to you. The staff is very friendly, very good. We’ve all found [that to be true] ... Everybody is friendly.
Our family is forever grateful to [you] for enhancing our mother’s final years.
Nice staff, very clean and organized place.
