The Manor Village at Fish Creek Park is another example of senior living excellence in action. There’s a long list of amenities and a wide array of activities that will fill anyone’s day to brimming. It also offers a full continuum of care. Beyond that, though, The Manor Village develops a deeply loving community. We’ve heard numerous examples of how the exceptional care staff go far beyond their duties to commit random acts of selflessness, for both seniors and visiting family. As a result, residents come to love life anew inside this community.
This is the choice for you if you want to live in a truly unique community. The variety of the housing and the layout of the grounds in a hub helps to create a true "village" feel. For all that, there is a distinct effort put forth by staff to make this place home, answering the unique needs of everyone who comes to live here.
We recently celebrated our mothers 90th birthday with family members and guests in the private dining room at Manor Village. The care and service provide by the dining room and kitchen staff was exceptional! Every detail was attended to with professionalism and a warm smile. We are so fortunate to have our mother living here!
My parents, at ages 88 and 92, are residents at The Manor Village at Fish Creek Park (“The Manor”). They moved in December 2021 and are content and happy in their new home. As everyone knows, leaving a home of many many years is heartbreaking, stressful and overwhelming. We felt no different when it was time for us to make the very difficult decision to move. We did our due diligence, toured every residence in the area and talked with all resources and professionals available to us. As a result of our efforts - The Manor clearly became the best choice for Mom and Dad. The mindset of the The Manor is “this is your home”! The staff and the executive work tirelessly to make each resident feel at home and encourage ideas and suggestions to enhance or improve their lifestyles. Our decision to choose The Manor was based on the facility: Different levels of care Bright Clean The suites feel like a home: large windows, generous is size, fully equipped (if desired) and beautifully appointed Wonderful amenities Nonstop activities Heated underground parking Heated underground visitor parking (no cost) Close to Amenities, Fish Creek Park, LRT Station and major routes Regarding the Staff: always smiling and happy, no request ever appears to be too much, so friendly and very professional Mom and Dad are coming up to a year of residency and are enjoying the amenities, activities, and new friendships they have made. Mom now has her bridge group play at The Manor, the ladies love the parking, refreshments, and private room The Manor provides. We are so comfortable that I recently had my wedding at The Manor. It was like getting married in my parent’s home but even better with the fabulous staff so engaged, helpful and willing to make my day extra special. Before Mom and Dad moved in, I asked on resident if she was happy at The Manor. Her response: “Let me put it this way, if you have to make this move – this is the place to be.” I can’t say it any better.
My parents moved to The Manor Village last October and absolutely love being part of this wonderful community. I was nervous at first moving them from their home in High River, but from the beginning the amazing Laura (Lifestyle Manager), all of the front desk staff, Dining Room Manager Antoun, the nurses, the cleaners - it really has given us the peace of mind knowing Mom & Dad are being well taken care of. A class act of a place to live! I organized an 80th Birthday celebration for my Dad on May 8th (also a busy Mother's Day for the dining room staff!) and it was just lovely. The help & attention we received from the beginning of the planning, to the delicious dinner, to all of the little things that helped this be so special will be appreciated & remembered always... Antoun [is] always helpful, professional & the perfect gentleman to all of his residents [and] the chef and kitchen staff that pulled it all together.
We recently booked the Medallion dining room to celebrate my father’s 90th birthday with our family. It was a great dinner. The food was excellent and our servers were delightful. Thank you to Dining room Manager Antoun, Chef Don, and all the staff for a lovely celebration.
2 years ago my wife and I came to Calgary and started living at The Manor Village Fish Creek Park. We are so pleased with our choice %100 of the staff have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. The period of restricted living now over was so well handled. Now that our liberty has been restored we have been able to invite friends and relations to eat in the Medallion Room which is most attractive and handled so well by Antoun the manager.
My mother-in-law lived at the Village for five years and absolutely loved it. The care team is extremely friendly and accommodating and did a great job of keeping the residents safe and comfortable through the pandemic. The food is good, the facilities are first class and the entire complex is well-maintained. The lovely gardens provide great opportunity for outdoor exercise and enjoyment and many outings are offered for shopping and sightseeing. All the staff are very friendly, professional and caring. The Village is a great place to live!
My father has been here almost a year. At 100 years young, he finds the accommodations and the entire staff to be wonderful, as does his immediate family. He's mostly independent but with failing eyesight, he needs an escort to go between all the events, and his 3 meals a day which they easily accommodate, like clockwork. Meds given in his room 3x per day by AHS LPNs and PSW's. Meals may be the highlight for him. Maybe not Michelin, but pretty darn good. Highly recommended in 2023. All inclusive studio apartment, with all services, meals, etc less than $4000/mo as of November 2023. Good value imho.
Lake bonavista was my first retirement home to check out. Lbv has an ambiance and a home feeling that you don't find in other retirement places. The relaxed way in which we were shown around amidst the contented looking residents was positive. During my time here, I've found a very friendly staff who go out of their way to assist you. The meals are great along with lots of activities to do. There are many walking areas to explore. In here, it's been a learning experience in the aging process and what you can do to stay active and healthy. A great place to be.
My Dad moved into Lake Bonavista Village in December 2021 after living in his own home since 1964. It was such a huge move and yet, he picked the best place to move to. From our very first meeting, my Dad felt welcome. On our tour of the facility, residents unsolicited asked if he was thinking of moving in. When he said yes, they all shared how much they loved living there and how well they were taken care of. They told him he would not regret moving there and they were right. Everyone, from the front reception to the dining room (and Bistro) as well as the nursing team treated my Dad (and me) as family. They knew our names and knew what my Dad liked to do and made sure he was ok, every single day. Unfortunately, my Dad only lived there for 8 months as he passed away in August 2022. Yet I am grateful for the love and kindness that everyone at Lake Bonavista Village gave him while he was there.
The staff and residents welcomed my mom, making the transition from her home to living there a good and easy experience. The entire family felt welcome to visit anytime and watching the great grandkids play in the pool was a highlight for her. What with the shows, fitness classes, sing alongs and meeting with friends at the bistro her social life blossomed. It was easy to arrange for her grandchildren and even their little ones to join her for meals in the dining room. She enjoyed the choice and quality of food and looked forward to dining with her tablemates and the friendly accommodating staff.
The Manor Village is an organization of skilled people who serve the mature resident by providing opportunities to live with meaning and purpose. We care about our residents and their family members. We deliver personal care in a happy atmosphere intended to ensure the safety and security of Residents as they enjoy the connection of socialization, exercise classes, entertainment value and activities for dignified living each day.
Lake Bonavista Village Retirement Residence is situated in the established and elegant community of Lake Bonavista amongst the serenity of old-growth trees and open landscapes. We offer a balance of autonomous living and community involvement through outstanding amenities, exquisite dining options, and diverse recreational and social events. Meander through our cul-de-sac community of thirteen cottages settled on our eight acres of tended gardens, putting green and swimming pool—and discover the art of aging in an engaging and impressive setting. Welcome to transformative retirement living.
