Among Vancouver retirement homes, Chelsea Park is a uniquely homey, comfortable environment offering striking value for anyone 55 and older. It’s a boutique-style retirement community, less formal than some other retirement residences, but with much of the vibrancy you’ll find in more expensive communities. With respect to the activities and amenities, you’ll find everything you need to make days complete.
The best thing about Granville Gardens is the care you'll find here. Having regular, chef-prepared meals offered daily is just the start of the life enhancement you'll take part in here. The group activities – including games, exercise, outings and in-house entertainment make life as sociable as you want it. There's round the clock watchful security provided by professional staff. Staff has been characterized by one family member as "a wonderful, caring group who [has] patiently held our hands" through the decision process.
We are very proud of the Chelsea Park staff and the warm and caring community that they have created in this small spot near Trout Lake Park.
Thanks so much for the care you and your team gave to my mother while at Chelsea Park. I was not expecting such a great experience. We looked at the places that charge double the cost of your facility does so we were expecting to lower our expectations since we could not afford the other places. But much to our surprise you were so much better than we could’ve ever experienced at any other place, simply the best. I think it is because of your genuine care and attention to my mother and all of the other residents under your management. I honestly found that the rest of the staff were very good but somehow you were a shining like that made me feel like I was leaving my mother with a loving family member who really cared about her. You were professional and caring to the maximum degree. I also found your son to always greet us with a smile and always went out of his way to help us. Thanks for making the moving out process just as great as the moving in and staying process. Our new place is good since it is subsidized and will make the transition to a nursing home easier as my mother deteriorates with time and age but we already miss Chelsea. If there is anything I can do to make sure your hard work is appreciated by your manager/employer at any time please let me know. I know you do what you do because it is just your nature and you do not expect to be rewarded, but you deserve to be recognized for doing much more than what most people would do in your position and with genuine care.
If you want a friendly place, not too formal, this is the greatest place to be. I would never want to go anywhere else. I would recommend this to anyone. I would recommend it to anyone.
You couldn’t ask for any better service than the girls that work in the dining room. The chef is also wonderful. Bus trips to different places are also very enjoyable.
We felt very uncomfortable about moving to the city, but you would never know we are in one. We walk across the street to places we call the ‘People Beach’, the ‘Dog Beach’, and the ‘Duck Bench’ at Trout Lake. At our new home we get lunch & dinner served in the attractive dining room. The staff are very good at remembering what people can and cannot eat. We are very happy here and cannot imagine living anywhere else. We get our suite cleaned once a week. I feel very spoiled. I would advise anyone looking for a place to live, “Come to Chelsea Park you will be very happy.”
My mom has been living at Granville Gardens for just over a year. It is a perfect new home for her. The staff are wonderful and they have done a fantastic job over the course of the pandemic. We wondered if she would cope here with her dementia, but my mom has thrived here. She has made new friends and has embraced the activities here. She has been more active in the last year than she was in previous few years prior to moving in. In her words: "I love it here!". [Dec 2020]
My mom has lived here for 2 1/2 years. She has faced many adjustments, her husband of 70 years passed away, COVID lockdown, and living alone for the first time in her life. Granville Gardens made her feel important and loved. The staff go above [and beyond] to make her feel loved and valued. Eating with her friends is her highlight of the day. She joins activities and has made new friends. Change is never easy, imagine doing it at 100. [Granville Gardens] makes the transition a positive one. [Jan 2021]
Granville Gardens welcomed my sister into this home like she was royalty. She was treated with the most loving and caring treatment by all staff. [She] was very sick, and everyone went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable. I cannot rave enough about how much [they] accommodated our family and the kindness that they showed to all of us. My sister's memories of Granville Gardens and our family are, that the people that work [here] are very special, and they truly care for the residents. I met many of the residents, and they are all friendly and happy [here]. Thank you Granville Gardens for making the last few months of my sisters life special.
Our mom recently moved to Granville Gardens ... [From] the first day, it felt like home.
It's a beautiful and spotless [brand new] home ... [we're] very comforted with the fact that mom will have the best care possible.
