There are several standout features of this building. We love the fireplace lounge, where people gather to chat or check out what’s on the big screen. Secondly, views of northern Calgary are spectacular from the many apartments with private balconies. The support staff here is professional and driven, and people are enthusiastic about the recreation and social activities available.
We've collected reviews and testimonials from around the web that are relevant to you: those from residents and their loved ones.
I have only been a year at Boardwalk. This is a great place to live and it's friendly also, I would recommend Boardwalk to all my friends. Keep up the great work.
Their agents are very kind and helpful. I rented a house in this building recently from my country, that was a hard job. But the office helped us so much. They show the house on Whatsapp to us. Also, [they] spent a lot of time helping us and answer our questions on Whatsapp. I want to say thank you to her and the boardwalk for having this office. Also, cost of the rent of this building is rational (based on our comparisons), and the location of the building is helpful for everyone. Besides, the building is clean and peaceful.
My mom's fridge died late on Sunday afternoon and I called the maintenance department; my call was answered right away, a maintenance person came to her apartment within 2 hours, the fridge could not be fixed so a new one was found for her and installed in her apartment within an hour. Amazing, professional, and caring service.
Friendly people. Obliging staff. Beautiful grounds and many activities. Five Calgary transit buses stop in front of our building. Abundance of places to walk including the U of C and Brentwood village with stores, services and restaurants. These are among the many attractions we have enjoyed during our five years at Boardwalk Retirement Community. We recommend it.
After visiting quite a few retirement homes in northwest Calgary, Boardwalk Retirement Community was my choice. My first impression was that the residents were happy to be there, and made me feel quite comfortable. Even though it is independent living, the residents and staff create a supportive family atmosphere. I have now lived here for 4 1/2 years [as of 2021 --ed.] and still feel the same way.
I checked out three Senior Homes then I looked into living at Boardwalk Retirement Community Independent Living. In comparison BRC met all my requirements. After living here for seven years I can say "I wouldn't want to live any where else". I love my apartment with it's lovely view of Brentwood and Nose Hill Park. The staff and residents are friendly and helpful, and the Recreational activities are very enjoyable.
My mother-in-law lived there for more than 10 years. She made life-long friends there, many of whom are still there, enjoying their homes at Boardwalk. There are always things we can find room for improvement, but I found over the years the staff on the whole are very accommodating to the residents. I visited my mother-in-law numerous times a week so could see a fair bit of what went on.
