Gain exclusive insight into life at Kingsbridge Retirement Community by Signature. Comfort Life’s exclusive reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.
Like the city it’s found in, Kingsbridge combines a respectful nod to the past with an eye on progress and renewal. Old fashioned values of care, comfort, and coziness are a persistent part of the environment here, but then there’s an array of features you might not have thought you needed — but are such a privilege to have daily access to. Days inside can be full! Sit with a book in the library, enjoy a worship service in the chapel, exercise with friends in the fitness room, or play around of billiards in the games room. It absolutely feels like there’s something for everyone under this roof. Changing your address is suddenly not just appealing but urgent, when you can move to a place superior in every way to remaining alone or in an environment you’ve outgrown.
The first thing you notice about the Kingsbridge as you drive up to it, is the elegance of the exterior. Balcony railings and curving facades give a sense of flight and grace. And when you walk in, you might indeed feel lighter, thanks to the expansive, bright interiors and the obviously happy people around.
The staff offers respect and approachability as a given, and it soon becomes apparent that there’s a closeness with each other and with people in their care. You can tell that people here love what they do. When we talked to staff, they exemplified the importance of communication and connection.

My Mom was experiencing some health issues and, as a family, thought it best that she move from her apartment to a retirement facility. She did a bit of kicking and screaming, but in the end, decided to take a look into what was available to her in Kingston.
The minute we walked in the door at Kingsbridge, we felt like we were in a five-star hotel. We were greeted by extremely friendly personnel who only wanted to provide my Mom with the best care, service and amenities. We toured a few rooms, as well as one of the model suites, did some measuring, drew up some floor plans and then let my Mom make the final decision. Enter phase two of kicking and screaming!
A few weeks later, Mom called me up and said she was ready to make the change. We signed her up right away and were able to get the room that she preferred and she was ready to go within a two-week time period.
Now that she's been a resident for a few months, she has made new friends and joins in some of the activities. She is not fully integrated yet, but on her way. She raves about the food!!! Seriously, she RAVES about the food!!! She enjoys a glass of wine or two in the lounge with other residents, family and visitors and is waiting to be able to enjoy some outdoor activities when the weather permits.
I have Kingsbridge on Facebook and am delighted to see postings of all the fun activities and special events held for the residents. Recently, I teared up watching a video of a resident whose wish was to visit with her developmentally challenged daughter who lives out of town. The staff put together a wonderful surprise for her as a part of their "Living List" by granting her wish.
It is such a blessing knowing that Mom is in a wonderful, safe, caring community where she is looked after and welcome.
My mother was very well cared for at Kingsbridge. Very loving community who value dignity and compassion. Very kind staff and residents. Highly recommend to friends and family.
My mom has recently moved to Kingsbridge and we can’t say enough about how helpful, kind and empathetic the staff have been. They were always patient with all my multiple questions and to help Mom feel welcomed and cared for. You can feel the atmosphere as you walk in the door.
My Mom was one of the very first people to move in, I have been impressed with the staff, food and rooms.
My mother has been a resident of Kingsbridge Retirement Community since it opened. From the day she moved in it has been a very positive experience. The entire staff has made her welcome in her new home. The staff is wonderful & and the activities and socializing are amazing. The covid pandemic has changed our lives but the creativity and [relentlessness] of this staff has been unwavering. It has given us such peace of mind having these “angels “ look after our loved ones in these difficult times when we can’t be there.
I (along with my sisters Susan and Wendy) wanted to take a moment on to express our appreciation for all the great care and services you and your team provide for our parents. It has been 1 year since they joined the Kingsbridge Retirement Community. We feel the physical and social attention given to our parents has extended their lives. One year ago, they were both quite ill, [and] we did not know how the year would evolve. Looking at 2020 there have been some challenges worldwide but the truth is mom and dad are healthier now than 1 year ago. We feel this is largely due to the fact that they live in a supportive, secure and stress-free environment.
My background is in Long Term Care, I know what goes behind all the tasty meals, the variety of events and so on. I can honestly say, with no hesitation, that Kingsbridge is a 5-star living center that considers the person first.
You and your team's attention to the wellness of each resident during this COVID crisis is also remarkable. ... Please express our appreciation to the whole team. Words seem inadequate, however, please know that our appreciation comes for a deep place in our hearts. We are blessed to have these 2 people in our lives for this long and we a grateful they are living at Kingsbridge.
