Gain exclusive insight into life at Livita Centennial Retirement Residence. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

As you drive up to Livita Centennial Retirement Residence, you’ll be impressed by the neatness and the clean contemporary look of the building. There’s a charming gazebo that serves as an outdoor meeting place, and you’ll also notice the gardens. Inside is a welcoming lobby, replete with a grand piano. It’s immediately spacious and comfortable. If those things make a nice first impression, what really really matters is how residents live well here.

Residents and their families are deeply heartfelt in their praise of Livita Centennial, commending its easy community of friends, wide array of activities, and professional staff. Perhaps the best thing about Livita Centennial is the caring manner and attitude of staff. You can tell that they genuinely care about those in their care, and they’re passionate about helping others. Residents will tell you that they feel like they are treated like family or like guests at a very exclusive hotel.

There’s lots to keep people busy including crafting activities, billiards, gardening, and seminars in-house, as well as outings to shopping and both local and Toronto attractions. The fitness room and movie theatre are some of the top local attractions inside. For those times when you want to slow things down, there’s a library, copious lounges, or the solace of your own suite.

The food here is excellent, with a focus on meeting seniors’ wants and needs. For example, at monthly food meetings, residents can speak up and voice their opinions and suggestions. Chefs cater to individual needs. Meals include an a la carte menu and there’s also a 24 hour bistro.

In 2019, we went around touring retirement homes for my 85 year old mother. As soon as we walked into Livita Centennial we immediately knew we had found the right place. This home has a different feel than all the rest. It's cosy, warm, and like sitting in your own living room. It feels non-institutional. My Mum was there for four years. The wonderful staff are so friendly, and are genuinely caring and very attentive to the residents. They get to know all the residents and their families. During a recent hospitalization, several of the staff even went to visit my Mum. I never worried about my mother while she was there. I always knew she was being taken care of.
If you are looking for a retirement home for your loved one, I highly recommend this one. I would give it a 10 if I could. And to all the staff at Livita, a big thank you for all you did for my mother!

We were looking for a retirement home for Mom & Dad. It's a big decision and Joanne provided an informative tour, no pressure and worked very hard to help us find the perfect suite, a comfortable moving date and helped us find a terrific moving company. Once Mom and Dad arrived the staff made them feel very welcome, they worked with us to make sure all their needs were met and helped them get involved in activities . We're very happy we chose Livita Centennial Retirement home.

My mother has viewed a few retirement homes and Centennial is now top of the list! It has all the facilities she requires without being too big. Joanne (the marketing manager) was kind and helpful not just to us but to all the residents we encountered on our tour. This made a very positive impression. My Mom just needs to make the decision now to move from her home!

I used to live in Livita Centennial Retirement Home and I left. The only reason that I left was to go and live with a friend out of town in their home, where we could share expenses and watch out for each other. Living in Centennial for a year was a wonderful experience. The meals were good. If you did not want what was being offered, you always had alternate choices. Snacks and coffee were always available 24/7. Important to me.

The staff was excellent. I cannot believe how genuinely caring they all were, particularly to those who needed it the most. It must have been how employees were selected as it seemed to come natural to them. (Not really something that can be taught.) I kept myself active in the year that I was there, with the many activities that were offered at the home and my walks throughout the community and shopping ventures. If my situation changed, I think I would gladly return to Centennial. Perhaps I may see you there some day.

I was very impressed with the tour of Livita for the purpose of respite care for my husband. I'm sure he will be well looked after.

My dad stayed at Livita Retirement Residence for a respite so my mom could get a break from his full time care as he has dementia and high needs. Livita staff were incredibly accommodating and even though his needs were more than they expected, they worked with us to make this a welcoming and safe space for my dad, so my mom did not need to worry. They really went above and beyond to help even though it wasn’t ideal for them. They really thought ‘outside the box’ to make this a success for us. In a world where everyone does the bare minimum and you are just a number, they really put the heart back in the process for us. The system for taking care of our high risk seniors has really been broken for many, many years and covid has made it even worse. Livita staff really jumped through hoops to help us and we will be forever grateful. Do not hesitate to entrust your loved one to this residence.

Right from the initial phone call to inquire about Centennial, they made you feel so welcome and not afraid to ask too many questions. Tausha is the 1st contact and is so dedicated to her job and the residents. She goes above and beyond. All of the staff have been so friendly that I have met so far. I know I will get to experience the entire place once Mom is out of isolation. So far, we are really impressed with the whole experience.

Livita Centennial Retirement Pace has been home to my Mom for almost 3 years. The staff care for her very well. The food is amazing and if there is something she cannot have, or dislikes, she can order something different for that meal. They did not have any cases of Covid because they took steps to protect the residents early. The grounds are lovely and well manicured and have a few gazebos for residents to sit with each other or family members. There are activities in the lobby and they bring in entertainers often.

The facilities are great and the staff here are phenomenal. They were already terrific before COVID, but they have done a sensational job at keeping residents, families, and themselves all safe during the difficult and stressful times of the pandemic. Very grateful.

I really enjoy the activities here. I love to play scrabble, do crafts and easy exercises. I love to go for walks everyday with my little dog Maggie. Having Maggie with me has been very good for my health.

Ann G., resident

I love my room, it is perfect! It faces the courtyard with all the flowers, birds and sun.

I would highly recommend Livita Retirement Residences As soon as you enter Livita Retirement Residences, you will find yourself in a very welcoming lobby. The
renovations on the main floor, which include a sitting area with a fireplace, as well as a bistro, are very inviting. The apartments are spacious and well laid out. The best part of Livita Retirement Residences is the staff! All of the staff, including housekeeping, kitchen, administration, and especially the PSW and nursing care staff have become like family. The attention to personal safety and well-being is highly apparent. During this uncertain time, I had full confidence in the goings on of Livita Retirement Residences.
