Reviews of Baycrest Terraces

Gain exclusive insight into life at Baycrest Terraces. Comfort Life’s exclusive reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.

Our perspective

Baycrest Terraces is ideal for people who love people. As part of the Baycrest Campus, you’ll be part of a dynamic community of people 55 and older. It’s a setting that fosters new friendships and a new perspective on aging well. Prices are reasonable, and you’ll enjoy interacting with the sparkling, standout personalities this community attracts.

In recent years, The Terraces has added assisted living and memory floors to their community, encouraging the broadening of a vibrant community that also includes Two Neptune and more. The friendly environment is perfectly suited to people who’ve grown up in Toronto and want to deepen their connection with the Jewish community. The people here are enthusiastic about life together. This rubs off on staff, too, who often join in the fun. Once seniors settle in here, they flourish. Family also appreciates this community's benefits for seniors.

Suites have all been recently renovated, including a full kitchen and updated accessibility features, so it feels like it was made just for you, which it is. It’s an ideal way to make a new beginning. Given Baycrest's long history of understanding seniors’ needs, expect the addition of assisted living to offer excellent care, on top of all the other things that make living here wonderful.

The front lobby is very inviting…There's a really nice gathering space, a big assembly room for main events. There is a large dining room that has a terrace… There's a room called the Fireside Lounge where activities take place. There's a synagogue on the main floor… There's a really beautiful greenhouse and that's one of my favorite places to hang out. The greenhouse is always open and it's a very peaceful place… There are gym and pool facilities… There's an art room. There are yoga classes.

[There are also] lots of group activities ranging from movie nights in the assembly room to, in the summer, there are ice cream socials and a barbecue. There are Yiddish classes. There are concerts every week. Really a range of things! There are lots of games… Bridge and Rummikub and Scrabble. And really nice grounds outside to walk. There's a beautiful walkway and it's very peaceful.

People here pretty look out for each other, and if there's somebody new, they invite them to go to dinner with them or outside… the welcome couldn't be warmer.

It's a nice place to live. You're well taken care of… If you have a problem, there’s [always] a nurse. So, it may be a minor thing [and] you don't have to call the doctor. The nurse might just be able to help you, or the nurse will be able to contact the doctor. Baycrest [is] a nice place to settle.

For us, the important thing was that it was kosher. We wouldn't go to a place that was not.

I join whatever is interesting. I go to exercises. I belong to the book club. We have musicals which people enjoy very much… We have a lovely garden outside. Now that summer is here, we go out for walks. There, you meet people… it’s up to you.

The staff is very friendly, very good. We’ve all found [that to be true] ... Everybody is friendly.

The Banacks, family member

Our family is forever grateful to [you] for enhancing our mother’s final years.

Mordecai H., resident

Nice staff, very clean and organized place.
