Meet Kathy - Editor of Comfort Life

There's a driving force behind the new face of Comfort Life, Canada's leading resource for retirement information and retirement residence listings. And she's a new face herself!

Kathy Barthel joined the Our Kids Media team back in July as the first full time editor for the magazines Comfort Life and Dialogue Plus along with their complementary newsletters and websites, comfortlife.ca and dialogueplus.ca. Kathy brings considerable experience as a print and online editor. Most recently, she served as editor and writer for MSN.ca, contributing significantly to the launch of this popular portal. Previously she worked for CTV.ca and TV Guide among other high profile print publications and websites.

"I am very excited about joining Comfort Life and Dialogue Plus because these properties have grown as a direct result of the difference they have made in the lives of Canadians,” said Barthel. “This is also a time of great change in the retirement industry and I Iook forward to helping Canadians navigate – and prosper from - those changes."

Kathy takes over for the departing team of Hugh Wesley and Muriel Duncan, who are retiring. Hugh and Muriel, husband and wife, helped launch the magazines Comfort Life and Dialogue Plus as new media covering the world of retirement homes in Canada. Andrew Stawicki, president of Our Kids Media said, "Hugh and Muriel have done brilliant work on Comfort Life and Dialogue. We’re sad to see them leave. We look forward to the inevitable growth of Comfort Life, just as our other media has grown significantly in recent years."
