Ontario Senior Games: The District Winter Games Begin!

After very successful OSGA District Summer Games with over 7,000 individuals participating, the Ontario Senior Games Association is shifting gears now on OSGA District Winter Games. District Winter Games are formally getting started with Kick off Events in Windsor-Essex (District 32) and Durham Region (District 13), this Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th respectively.



Friday, November 4th: Windsor-Essex

This Friday November 4th Windsor-Essex will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary as a District by hosting an Opening Ceremonies Kick Off Event. This celebration will be at the Centres for Seniors Windsor, 635 McEwan starting at 11:30am. This event will include VIP remarks from the Mayor of Windsor and the Warden- Essex County. The event will also include a cake cutting, volunteer recognition video and live entertainment.

Saturday, November 5th: Durham Region

The following day on Saturday November 5th, the Durham Region District Committee is excited to host the District 13 Kick Off Event, at the Whitby Curling Club from 1-4pm. This will be the first of many winter events being organized by the District 13 Committee. There will be curling games taking place as well as, celebrations and refreshments provided between games. This event is open to any current District 13 participant or anyone else wishing to find out more about the OSGA District 13 Games.

District Winter Games from November to February

Throughout the months of November through February, Member Districts from across Ontario will be offering a variety of Winter Games. Events in many Member Districts include: hockey, badminton, curling, 10-pin bowling, volleyball, duplicate bridge, skating, alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and table tennis. These events are structured around providing opportunities for 55+ residents to remain active and enjoy some of their favourite activities!
