That’s no surprise, given that it’s part of the Brenda Strafford Foundation, an organization focused on research-backed innovation and care. Its setting in the University of Calgary’s intergenerational project adds an extra layer of exciting innovation. And then, for all its progressiveness, this community excels most of all in providing the evergreen need of care for our beloved seniors.

Staff are always willing to step up and help, regardless of their official roles. Team approach to what is best for their residents is evident. There is also a light and friendly atmosphere with residents being social and welcoming.

My mother-in-law moved into Prominence Way in November 2020. Our experience from the first intro meeting until move-in date and every day since could not have been better. She has flourished at PW, physically, mentally and emotionally … [She] loves the community, the food, the social interactions, the staff and the fact that she has as much independence as she wants while having the support that she needs …The fine ladies that are at the concierge desk [are] vigilant about COVID screening and obviously have the safety of all residents top of mind …My mother in law is not in a home; she is at home.

Since arriving at Prominence Way Retirement Community, I have watched my mom flourish. The best part of our experience is being able to sit down and enjoy a coffee together in the bistro.

I can still do all the things I love and know that I’m being cared for by staff that care. I have realized that living in a community is a great experience and a new way at looking at living. I’m making new friends and enjoying new experiences.

"Security" comes to mind when we think about our move to Prominence Way.  The caring staff, welcoming residents, and all the amenities have given us a a sense of community and well-being.  It is a new building, in an excellent location.

Cambridge Manor [has] been taking care of my father-in-law for months. Through Covid and all [he] has come to call this place home. The staff are fantastic, [taking] the time to call us to keep us updated with my father in law's care and make sure whatever he needs has always been taken care of.

Prominence Way has 55 Designated Supportive Living studio rooms on a separate floor at our community.
Please note, our Designated Supportive Living floor is coordinated by Alberta Health Services Transition Services Team. Placement is based on their waiting list and a SL4 or SL4D designation.
