This is a kosher-friendly community designed with the needs of older people in mind. Many suites have been recently renovated (as of 2020-21) showing the community’s incessantly progressive approach to meeting residents’ needs. The update complements this building’s situation in an established neighbourhood populated by many trusted businesses. Community members here are gregarious, enjoying each others’ company, and it’s part of the vibrant inter-connected communities of Baycrest.
Baycrest Terraces is ideal for people who love other people. As part of the Baycrest Campus, you’ll take part in a dynamic community of many people 55 and older. It’s a setting that fosters new friendships and a new perspective on aging well. Prices are reasonable, and you’ll enjoy interacting with the variety of sparkling, standout personalities this community attracts.
We appreciate the welcoming friends who are now part of our “mishpoche.” My children and “old” friends often come to visit, and all are impressed with the welcoming atmosphere they see here. I agree with them: ergo my decision to spend my “aging years” as a resident here, as long as I am able. I am content.
Two Neptune has a synagogue across the street and all kinds of stores for shopping. There’s a pharmacy, a dentist and a doctor’s office all along Bathurst Street and in Baycrest, if needed. The building itself has a Sabbath elevator and a Succah as a bonus. What more could we ask for?
I am very pleased to have made the decision to buy into this building. A lot is being offered here, for people who like to be active, such as lessons, entertainment, etc. I am also very pleased with the concierge who are always helpful in a pleasant way.
The front lobby is very inviting…There's a really nice gathering space, a big assembly room for main events. There is a large dining room that has a terrace… There's a room called the Fireside Lounge where activities take place. There's a synagogue on the main floor… There's a really beautiful greenhouse and that's one of my favorite places to hang out. The greenhouse is always open and it's a very peaceful place… There are gym and pool facilities… There's an art room. There are yoga classes. [There are also] lots of group activities ranging from movie nights in the assembly room to, in the summer, there are ice cream socials and a barbecue. There are Yiddish classes. There are concerts every week. Really a range of things! There are lots of games… Bridge and Rummikub and Scrabble. And really nice grounds outside to walk. There's a beautiful walkway and it's very peaceful. People here pretty look out for each other, and if there's somebody new, they invite them to go to dinner with them or outside… the welcome couldn't be warmer.
It's a nice place to live. You're well taken care of… If you have a problem, there’s [always] a nurse. So, it may be a minor thing [and] you don't have to call the doctor. The nurse might just be able to help you, or the nurse will be able to contact the doctor. Baycrest [is] a nice place to settle. For us, the important thing was that it was kosher. We wouldn't go to a place that was not. I join whatever is interesting. I go to exercises. I belong to the book club. We have musicals which people enjoy very much… We have a lovely garden outside. Now that summer is here, we go out for walks. There, you meet people… it’s up to you. The staff is very friendly, very good. We’ve all found [that to be true] ... Everybody is friendly.
Our family is forever grateful to [you] for enhancing our mother’s final years.
Nice staff, very clean and organized place.
