One of the best things about this small town retirement community is its combination of cozy intimacy with some of the pampering and amenities people in larger centres expect. Efficiency and diligent compassion are a hallmark of the staff’s attitude, highlighted when you hear how families talk about this community. Staff bring an old-fashioned work ethic to the care they offer seniors. This community may also appeal to people from Kingston and Ottawa wanting excellent care at rates that are more affordable than similar communities in those cities.
This state-of-the-art 60+ seniors village is ideal for people who love Ottawa and/or have family in the area. People live very comfortably here, with everything they need in a tranquil location overlooking the Ottawa River. Bruyère Health Senior Living is distinguished for its combination of affordability with newness. The innovative environment includes up-to-date conveniences, accessibility features, and spaciousness throughout.
Visited my friend at the retirement home today and was genuinely impressed by the seniors — several of them over 90, sharp, cheerful, and full of spirit. They’re already gearing up for the July 1st Canada Day Parade, which will pass by Chateau Glengarry just after noon, followed by all the festivities. The Legion has built a float to celebrate its 100‑year anniversary — honouring Canada, our veterans, and our community. The setup is remarkable: restored jeeps, a beautiful tractor‑trailer unit, and a great mix of people riding on the float and walking alongside, including Community Living participants and residents from Chateau Glengarry. Some Quigley Piper music will announce their arrival.
My mother and sister have lived at the Chateau Glengarry since the fall of 2019. I have always been impressed by the respect, caring, and concern of each staff member toward them. They are always listened to and made to feel valued in their home. Mom and Ann are indeed lucky to be in such surroundings. Thank you to each staff member. You really do make a difference and are much appreciated.
I reside at Chateau Glengarry. I like my room, which is bright and has a beautiful layout. The staff is helpful, and other residents are becoming my new friends.
My parents have been at Chateau Glengarry for over a year now and love the staff and facilities, where they receive great care and have access to fun activities, plus the local community. Alexandria is a great little town and not too far from large cities like Ottawa, Cornwall, and Montreal. They also have great outdoor concerts around the corner in the summertime.
Very good and caring services from all staff members.
Excellent location. Great suites. I am very impressed with the whole operation. It’s like a one-stop shop.
Very nice clean seniors home for independent living. Well-maintained and pleasant.
It's [really just] a big family, but we have our own lives.
Located in the picturesque Alexandria centered between Ottawa & Montreal, our bilingual staff cater to seniors who are independent, need some assistance with daily living tasks, as well as those who are at the onset of needing memory care. You'll enjoy fresh home-cooked food, relax in the privacy of your suite or join in exercise classes & fun activities while enjoying the company of others. Respite & convalescent stays are welcome. Get pampered & live life to the fullest at Chateau Glengarry!
For more than 35 years, we have built a home to provide quality care and a sense of community for our seniors. Our dedicated, caring, and professional staff provides a continuum of compassionate services in our all-inclusive residence. Our residence is the perfect place to move for independent seniors as well as those requiring assistance. We offer supportive care for active, self-sufficient, and autonomous Independent seniors. This lifestyle removes some of the burdens of remaining in their own home while offering them a comfortable community life with like-minded seniors. We can also customize a care plan for seniors who require more assistance to support their health and well being. After completing a comprehensive health assessment with our Director of Care will work with our seniors to design a custom services plan to suit their individual needs. Our community is built on a foundation of independence, support, and inclusivity. We are not a retirement home or long-term care facility, but a place where seniors can age in place, with access to flexible, personalized assisted living services when needed at no extra cost. Our Assisted Living Services for High-Risk Seniors program offers 24/7 supports from licensed staff right in tenants' apartments, allowing them to maintain autonomy without the need for disruptive moves. Tenants enjoy modern amenities such as full kitchens, in-suite laundry, and the option of beautiful river-view apartments overlooking the Ottawa River. For those seeking flexibility, we offer optional meal plans, and for seniors who prefer a fully managed experience, we provide an all-inclusive package in our beautiful bachelor suites. We offer a variety of organized activities and outings to keep tenants socially engaged. We also provide subsidized housing in some of our Villa apartments through the Ottawa Housing Registry, ensuring high-quality, affordable living options for all seniors. Conveniently located near shopping and amenities, Bruyère Health Senior living offers a peaceful, safe nature-filled environment that enhances quality of life.
