Belmont House is unique for being a non-profit community that offers an impressively luxurious lifestyle. It also boasts excellence in care and amenities, on a beautiful park-like property in the heart of the prestigious Rosedale neighbourhood. With its community of cheerful peers and a friendly building rife with things to do, it’s a seniors’ garden of delights in the middle of Toronto.
The Briton House generates exceptional loyalty among seniors and family members they serve. We see few communities with residents who have stayed in one place for longer than ten years but there are a number of such long-term residents here. We believe that stems from the unique vision at work here, starting from a foundation of looking at senior care and lifestyle holistically.
It’s a well known secret that Belmont House is the best of the best in Ontario. The facility has elite accreditations with a highly skilled and compassionate management team. For example, there wasn’t a single resident COVID-19 infection during the entire pandemic - wow! They are currently rolling out the Butterfly program for dementia care, one of the first of its kind in Canada. With years of experience with family members at Belmont, I have no hesitations whatsoever to recommend.
My mother lived there and I volunteered there. Not only is it the "seniors home of choice", it has received the ultimate official confirmation of being the best possible by official inspections resulting in it being accredited "in exemplary standing". Anyone who retires there or who is a long-term patient there or who works or volunteers or visits there should consider themselves truly blessed.
Belmont House truly feels like home. The friendly and supportive community is always there for you.
There is always so much to participate in and enjoy. I’ve never been bored.
In light of the [pandemic], I have felt so safe. I know I can trust the staff and that they really care about us all.
I have been staying at the Briton House for about 3 years now... The leadership team handled COVID extremely well and we had no cases for a very long time. I was so happy that all of the residents and the staff were able to get our shots early on. I have a very nice table mate, we have amazing conversations and the community here is very friendly. We have a talented chef, and I like that if you don’t want what is on the menu that day, there is always an alternative that you can choose from.
During COVID, I felt such incredible relief knowing the quality of care and compassion my father was receiving at The Briton House. As a resident on a care floor, he was always treated with dignity and warmth and I cannot express my gratitude for the wonderful PSWs and nurses who tended to him everyday.
My Dad has been living at Briton House since October of 2019. Prior to the pandemic, Dad loved the daily exercise classes, music concerts and socialising over meals in the dining room. Briton House acted quickly and proactively getting PPE early on, to protect staff and residents. Their frequent and regular updates for family of residents, have been helpful, comforting and appreciated. Briton House is one of the first, if not the first, long term care facility to have all staff and residents vaccinated! An amazing accomplishment! Although we have missed, in person visits, I know staff are working hard to return to, some normalcy for their residents. I have every confidence, their knowledge and skill, attention to detail and care will make this happen.
I am very impressed and very fortunate to be a resident here at the Briton House.
I have been here for 3 years and I am the youngest in the building. I am the 5th generation of my family to live here. I used to come visit my parents for lunch and in 2016 I moved in. I have lived in this area my whole life, so a lot of the residents come to me when they want to know where things are or what to do in the neighbourhood. The staff here are wonderful and I get along with them quite well. David Smith, Margaret, Mark, John, Sandy, Matthew and Susan are all very lovely people. I enjoy living here and have no problems here. It’s a wonderful place to live and I knew the owner Mr. Wells very well. It’s a nice place, cozy and the atrium is very big and nice.
