Our Perspective

How we see Cedar Springs PARC

This home is ideal for many reasons but is especially appealing to outdoor enthusiasts who will love the many trails nearby. Many residents who move here find a new or renewed love for exploring; hiking, canoeing and kayaking become new interests. Cedar Springs offers an almost implausible number of attractions.

Cedar Springs PARC is still very new, providing very modern, spacious suites, and an impressive array of amenities. You'll find a spa, a hairdresser, wellness centre, golf and a movie theatre, along with simpler pleasures like card games with friends, hiking trails and gardening. For all that, the care provided, from the emergency call system, to wheelchair accessibility throughout, to the nursing staff onsite, make this an ideally safe home for seniors who are still very independent. Staff here clearly demonstrate deep caring in everything they do.

Suites feature spectacular views of the nearby natural areas. Inside, there are delicious meals all prepared for you; you'll also find fitness facilities and very active hobby rooms. Nearby is all the shopping you need, and slightly further afield there are a variety of spectacular natural areas. Maplewood Flats is an ideal day outing with family, as is Roche Point Park. Mount Seymour Park is both a skiing destination and a natural wonder.

Reviews of Cedar Springs PARC

What residents and their loved ones say about Cedar Springs PARC in reviews.

Kathleen Jessop, family member

"My mother moved into Cedar Springs PARC in August 2023. She loved her apartment, it was bright and very quiet. The staff were always very welcoming, helpful and they all knew her by name very quickly. She loved not having to think about meals, just go down to the dining room, sit with friends and enjoy the fantastic food placed before you! Unfortunately, mum passed away in December and again, the team at Cedar Springs were available to support us during this difficult time. I would recommend Ce..."

Susanne Macauley, family member

"My parents moved in July 2021 and what a difference Cedar Springs has made to their lives! They’ve expanded their social circle by attending happy hours and discussion groups, they enjoy at least one excursion a month, and both love the food. Recently they enjoyed a wine tasting and food pairing event - they have a richer social than I do! The staff is always very helpful, understanding and friendly. We always joke that it’s like living on a cruise ship but it really is. They love the quiet,..."

David Gagnon, family member

"My mom called Cedar Springs Parc home for almost 10 years. Last year she passed away. Throughout the entire time living at Cedar Springs, the staff treated her with the utmost kindness and compassion. When the pandemic surfaced, the staff and larger organization were excellent in caring for all the residents, providing clear, well-thought-out communications and working hard to ensure the safety of staff, residents and families. When my mom passed, they were there every step of the way supporting..."

Dining

Our talented culinary teams thrive on creating a daily array of menu choices that are full of flavour and variety. The Executive Chef at Cedar Springs PARC comes from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. You'll see his passion for food and hospitality shine through in the delicious food he prepares everyday. Menu options don’t come down in a cookie-cutter approach from head office. At each residence, the Executive Chef and their culinary teams plan, prep and create their menu options to fit the tastes of their unique communities. Menus are designed around whole grains, fresh produce (some grown onsite in our own gardens), the right amount of protein and plenty of nutrients. In addition to regular well-balanced foods, we’re pleased to offer PARC SMART portion-controlled entrees which are low in sodium, saturated fat and concentrated sugars.

COVID-19 Information

The pandemic has been a tough time for seniors and their loved ones across Canada. But through it all, Cedar Spring PARC (along with all PARC communities) has stayed ahead of the curve, keeping our residents safe and healthy, and our communities COVID-19-free.

This is partly thanks to our well-trained team, who quickly and proactively implemented provincial government health-and-safety protocols. But independent retirement communities like PARC are also uniquely positioned to keep residents safe during a pandemic, with multiple layers of defense already in place, from onsite wellness nurses to established sanitization and emergency protocols. As well, we offer chef-prepared meals, weekly suite housekeeping, and private transportation – lifelines when busy grocery stores and public spaces pose risks to seniors.

To protect our residents from COVID-19, we've implemented extra sanitization, physical distancing, mandatory face masks for employees, free resources for residents to shop, and socialize online and family meet-up centres with plexiglass barriers and virus-prevention filtration systems.

Cedar Springs PARC is as committed as ever to creating safe, independent, respectful, and healthy communities for our residents.
