Among Vancouver retirement homes, Chelsea Park is a uniquely homey, comfortable environment offering striking value for anyone 55 and older. It’s a boutique-style retirement community, less formal than some other retirement residences, but with much of the vibrancy you’ll find in more expensive communities. With respect to the activities and amenities, you’ll find everything you need to make days complete.
Set foot in Chelsea Park, and the first thing you hear will likely be laughter. It’s a special place where residents are comfortable and genuine with each other. The emphasis here is on coziness. You’ll find home-cooked meals and afternoon tea parties are an important part of life. For such an affordable community, the list of activities is extensive. There are outings, live entertainment, Bingo, tennis and golf, gardening clubs, card games, exercise classes... and the list goes on.
Just outside the community you’ll also find some wonderful features. Expansive Trout Lake park is right across the street, with a variety of walking trails and even a beach. There’s a community center there, and down the street on Commercial Drive/Victoria Drive there’re a variety of shops. You can live a full life here, and we might argue that Chelsea Park offers some of the best value we’ve seen in a retirement home.

"Thanks so much for the care you and your team gave to my mother while at Chelsea Park. I was not expecting such a great experience. We looked at the places that charge double the cost of your facility does so we were expecting to lower our expectations since we could not afford the other places. But much to our surprise you were so much better than we could’ve ever experienced at any other place, simply the best. I think it is because of your genuine care and attention to my mother and all of ..."

"If you want a friendly place, not too formal, this is the greatest place to be. I would never want to go anywhere else. I would recommend this to anyone. I would recommend it to anyone.

Our commitment to these values earned us the BC Seniors Living Association Seal of Approval in 2011 and we've continued achieving these standards through the past 10 years. We believe the community connection is important in keeping our seniors interested and engaged. Our vision is to create opportunities for serenity and socialization. We value and support each individual's dignity and privacy and we value the benefits that a commitment to continuous improvement brings to the service we provide. Chelsea Park has been COVID-free since the start-up of the pandemic in early 2020 thanks to our dedicated staff and very cooperative residents and their loving families.
Everyone at Chelsea Park has been doubled vaccinated. We do have visitor restrictions/rules about entering the building if you are sick or have been in contact with anyone who has been sick, and a COVID assessment check list asking about travel and symptoms for all visitors and staff. Visitors are required to wear masks when entering the building and in all common areas and all residents and staff are continuing to wear masks in all of our common areas. Our activities have started up again and everyone has returned to the dining room which makes us all happy.
Our Staff are diligently cleaning and sanitizing all common areas and touch surfaces many times a day. We receive information weekly and sometimes daily from the Ministry of Health and BC Seniors Living Association as to how to proceed and we are following the guidelines and regulations set in place by the Provincial Ministry of Health for Long Term Care and Assisted Living Residences.
We also provide updates and reminders for our residents to keep everyone on track in remaining safe and contributing to the solution.
A residential neighborhood with friendly folks and lots of gardens and trees to view and enjoy. John Hendry Park and Trout Lake are at our doorstep. Seasonal Farmers' Market and Community center with Gym; Pottery room; and Seniors' activities within the park as well as walking trail around the little lake.
