This building has it all for Toronto seniors. Condo ownership is available for those looking to invest. Rental suites offer exceptional retirement features, with some assistance available. This results in an integrated community, where seniors can decide to switch from condo ownership to care, in a community they're already familiar with. The best thing about the Parkland, though, is the unique combination of in-building luxuries and abundant conveniences just outside the door.
The Village of Erin Meadows continues Schlegel Villages progressive approach to senior care. Expect excellence in all aspects, from building design and layout, through care offered, to innovation in service. Flexibility is one of their touchstones. Living in My Today, Java Music Club and ElderWisdom are three signature programs that exemplify their approach in creating care environments. Since 2009, Schlegel has driven its own culture change in senior care.
Like a landlocked upscale cruise ship, Parkland on the Glen fills the needs of its passengers in keeping with their living requirements. All levels of care are available from independent condominium living to full 24/7 care. We live in a condo and are pretty much independent; however, the day may come when we need additional assistance. It’s all here if and when required.
Great activities for the community hosted by Grace Miksa. Lovely park-like setting with many nature trails, beautiful views, and easy access to many amenities. Highly recommend.
Fantastic staff, 5* dining, safe environment, worth every penny!
My mom lives here and it's a fantastic place. The staff truly cares about the residents and the beautiful amenities, services, and facilities. Thank you for providing us with peace of mind!
Lovely staff and ambiance!
Living at Parkland on the Glen is just like living in a 5 Star Hotel with all the benefits, and a beautiful one-bedroom apartment. I am so happy here and the staff are so caring and friendly. It would be a long time to find a more beautiful place. Come and take a tour you won’t regret it.
There is such a nice feeling of community amongst all residents. My mother has made lifelong friends and feels like she has found an amazing place to call home. Parkland on the Glen is centrally located in Mississauga with proximity to malls, grocery, and Credit Valley Hospital..lots of walking trails to explore.
I visit a friend at the Village. The Village is truly what the name suggests. The place is very well managed. The care the very senior residents get is extremely good. The gym facilities, as well as the entertainment section, are well organized. The residents are informed of events well in advance. Every need of the residents is given top priority.
I am always impressed by the care and compassion of the team. I can leave knowing that my husband is being treated with respect, kindness, and genuine concern.
The village of Erin Meadows is a wonderful place for your loved ones to receive care. The staff are friendly, supportive and really want to do what is best for each client with the limited resources available. Being in healthcare, you don’t often hear positive situations only the harsh -ones. Those negative events are often very few events but travel through the rumour mill very quickly and last a long time. This organization is very open to family involvement and solutions to complaints for change. I would like to take this time to bring forward and acknowledge the staff, physicians, leadership, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to providing this care for our loved ones.
My mom received great care during 5 month period she resided in memory care area at Erin Meadows. The PSWs on the floor are terrific and gave me comfort that my mom was being cared for with dignity and respect.
Absolutely zero complaints! My father stayed in the Egerton and Emma's neighbourhood during his time at Erin Meadows, and the level of care provided was excellent. Every nurse, psw, food service, housekeeping and therapist treated my father with kindness and dignity. My mother and I were extremely happy with everything, and most importantly my father was very happy. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad Vernon!
Rental units located from floors 2 to 11 with a dedicated assisted floor located on the 3rd level. All rental units have functional kitchens. Condo rental units available with full kitchens. Chauffeur service available to take residents to medical appointments (Monday to Friday), area shopping malls(three times per week) and church service on Sunday. Parkland has a small footprint so our amenity space is easily accessible and the suites are closeby the elevators.
Our Village is a proud part of a Canadian family tradition of community building that goes back 70 years. The first Schlegel family home became the foundation of what Schlegel Villages is today. Here at The Village of Erin Meadows, we offer several lifestyle options to meet a variety of needs. Our continuum of care allows for residents to age with us in place as their needs change. The residents we serve come from a range of backgrounds that thread together the fabric of our community, and while we know resident-centredness is a term that many lean on these days, we truly do focus on each individual’s wishes to guide our approach to service. Our Signature Programs help us focus on the individuality of each resident we serve. Our LIVING in My Today dementia care philosophy, for example, was developed by our team and our partners alongside people with lived experience. This provides our team the opportunity to learn exactly what it means to support a person who is experiencing the changing perceptions of dementia. We also celebrate the Wisdom of the Elder as another Signature Program, thanks to the inspiration of our founder Ron Schlegel. Ron once said: “The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders,” and we honour the individual and collective wisdom of those we serve in ways large and small.
Parkland on the Glen has been voted Reader's Choice for Best Retirement Residence in Mississauga for the past 12 years. Reasons why Parkland on the Glen is considered the best: Parkland on the Glen offers chauffeur service that takes residents to medical appointments, area shopping malls and church service on Sunday.; Parkland has a small footprint so our amenity space is easily accessible and the suites are close by the elevators.; Every unit has a balcony so that our residents can enjoy the views that surround Parkland on the Glen.; All utilities and communications are included in the base monthly rate.; Lastly, our residents, families and staff make Parkland on the Glen a great place to live.
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
We understand a move may be a bit overwhelming. Moreso, our residents understand the emotions attached with making a move. Our self-proclaimed 'Welcome Wagon Lady' greets all our residents and is available to answer any questions they may have from resident prespective. All residents are welcoming of a new resident as they were a new resident once themselves.
During the first week of arrival, our departmental managers meet with each new resident to assist them in familiarizing them with Parkland on the Glen from such things as how to work the thermostat to what types of dishes they may want to see on the menu. Afterall, Parkland is home.
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.
Parkland on the Glen offers a continuum of care with nursing services offered throughout the building or on our dedicated Assisted Living Floor. Our Assisted Living Floor does not support individuals with advanced dementia.
Parkland on the Glen has a dedicated Ontario Health atHome Case Manager who can assist new residents and current residents in receiving some care support. Parkland on the Glen also provides one-on-one and companionship care. There are some instances where residents have personal care givers and/or live-in support workers.
Every six months, our nursing team reaches out to residents to complete an assessment at which time residents share any updates in their health such as change in medications.
Our full continuum of care allows residents to remain within one familiar community as their needs evolve. This includes independent living, retirement living apartments, assisted care, memory care, and long-term care, all connected within the Village. As care needs increase, residents continue to experience the familiarity, relationships, routines, and sense of belonging that make our Village feel like home.
Individuals who have advanced cognitive decline would not be a good fit for Parkland on the Glen as our Assisted Living Floor is not geared towards dementia care. Parkland on the Glen do have some residents who have early stages and those who are progressing with a slow decline but they function normally in their day to day life here in the Parkland community.
Erin Meadows may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
Residents are very involved in what happens at Parkland on the Glen. After all it is their home.
There is a Resident's Council, a Condo Board, a Harmony and Wellness Committee, a Food Committee, a Gardening Committee, a Book Club, a Glee Club and Parkland Players Theatre and Music Ensemble, just to name a few. In 2024, a Green Committee was formed.
New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
Parkland on the Glen's activities and programs are always changing as the profile of our residents change. It is important to us that the residents have a say in what is offered in our social programming, our menu options, etc.
We are currently undergoing a cosmetic change to our residential floors as we update the colour palette of the walls and flooring.
We will continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Erin Meadows. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
Parkland opened it's doors in April 2010. We have quite a few residents and staff members who have been with us since the beginning.
We have 194 units within our 21-storey building.
Parkland on the Glen has a small foot for easy accessibility to all the amenity space. Our residential floors have a maximum of 13 suites so everyone is close to the three elevators.
Our age range is late 60's to 99 years old.
