This community is ideal for Calgary families and seniors looking for something a little different, something a little more ideally relaxed. The location just outside of Calgary in Rocky View County, is an idyllic location that offers quiet, country living close to the city. In addition, this is close to the highway, making it easily accessible for family members from throughout the area.
A superlative midrise showing a company that’s fervently progressive in anticipating the needs of today’s seniors into the coming years. It's the kind of seniors’ building you definitely want to move to. People are effusive about it and run out of adjectives in their reviews.
What a lovely place. The staff are all so kind and full of compassion and knowledge! The nurses go above and beyond and the whole place is clean and sanitary (a priority for my family)! The food is also amazing and I really appreciate all the activities and fun events the staff plan. It really brightens the patient's days and helps the days not blend in to one another. I think it's vital to have something to look forward to and socialization for quality of life and to ward off dementia! Thank you Prince of Peace! You've given me peace of mind and joy!
The staff vigilantly guard against infection from every angle. My mom is quite appreciative of your efforts, as well as all the accommodations you provide for her.
My Mum, who is 97, has lived at Prince of Peace Manor for three years. She has some dementia and she loves living there. She says the food is very good and the staff are professional, kind, helpful and not intrusive. I have found the standard of care to be excellent and staff go the extra mile to ensure that residents are healthy and safe. My Mum and I are happy we found the Prince of Peace Manor.
I love the big windows! There are great views of the mountains and prairies. The walking paths are well maintained which makes it easy to enjoy the duck ponds and green space in the community.
My Mom, Betty Klassen… was able to receive Palliative Care at her home, Prince of Peace, after having a stroke. Our family experienced significant emotional and physical support through the last 5 days that we spent at our Mom's bedside. In those difficult days, we witnessed the deep connection that existed between Mom and her caregivers. They treated her and us with a great deal of respect and care. They anticipated care needs, they showed up during the most difficult days, with such kindness and compassion for us all. Mom died peacefully and gracefully here in her home, surrounded by her children and her Prince of Peace family. The impact that this had upon our family will be with us forever. [It’s a] commendable organization and excellent frontline staff [who] have provided kind and compassionate care throughout the past year. Transitioning into care was stressful for both our mother, who has dementia, and our family. This was compounded by COVID. The staff at all levels from admin, to personal care workers have been kind, patient, and available through many tearful conversations. I [loved] watching Mom share a joke with the staff, their investment in relationship with her [was] evident and welcome. The staff are vigilant and observant - anticipating her needs, and responding to concerns and changes that we note as well. Other things that make it a great home include a varied menu, and nutritious meals and snacks. It is always clean and smelling fresh. There is lots of sunlight...These things combine to create a welcoming atmosphere.
We moved in into this community after researching similar facilities. The common areas are beautiful. Our unit is spacious, modern and beautiful. But most of all we are very impressed with the kindness of the staff. Always willing to help and accommodate all needs. They went beyond expectations when we had a delay in our moving in date. We were touched and are very grateful.
We moved my 90-year-old mother into Trico LivingWell in July 2023 into Assisted Living in the Birch building. We had searched online and found 35 different retirement complexes in southwest Calgary and physically toured 7 of them. Trico was the clear top choice for us. It is a very new facility and is designed with seniors in mind. The interior is inviting, the main floor (where the dining room and most programs are located) is bright, has high ceilings, and feels very open. Inside the suites, it is very quiet, since the building is made of concrete, not wood. There is a small park nearby and my Mom loves to watch out the window whenever a young family is playing there. She enjoys immensely the various programs at Trico, especially the senior’s physical activity classes that she goes to two times a day most days in the Wellness Centre. She says how friendly all of the residents are, and that the staff are all very nice. The food is outstanding! When we visit her weekly she literally thanks us every time, for finding this place for her. I believe that since she has been at Trico she has become sharper mentally and she is even happier than her usual self. I think that the Trico environment and programs have contributed to that. We are so grateful to Kelsey Clarke, Executive Director. I am not sure I can explain this properly, but she was like a ‘calming oasis’ or ‘bright lighthouse’ for us when we were going through the busy process of relocating my mother. Kelsey was always there for us happily touring us through the building and programs. She is extremely pleasant, welcoming, and a wealth of knowledge. She is passionate about what she does and really cares about people, and you can feel this when you meet with her.
Trico has gone above and beyond in caring for my father after he experienced a couple of medical incidents. Everyone - from the housekeeping staff, and the front desk, to the nursing staff and the care aids to the dining room staff - everyone has been so helpful and professional. We just had another celebration in the family dining room and it was exceptional - a seriously better meal than I often get in restaurants. Chef Liana accommodated a number of food allergies and sensitivities and created an exciting and delicious tasting menu for us, perfectly executed by her staff. So glad that my father can be at Trico! Moving a family member to a senior’s residence is an emotional time. We worked with Brandie to understand what Trico LivingWell offered and, after seeing some other options, it was obvious that Trico LivingWell was the top choice. Brandie was absolutely wonderful – so knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions! The facility is beautiful to see and is constructed and run to standards that I suspect few others can match (check out the info on the Well Standard on their website). My father felt at home from the first visit. All of the other staff we have interacted with have also been great – from the front desk to the artist in the creativity lounge to staff in the dining room. I highly recommend that you consider Trico LivingWell. We also celebrated a landmark birthday Dad in the private dining room at Trico LivingWell. I met with Chef Liana to inform her of family allergies, food intolerances, and preferences – there were many and she was not fazed at all. We asked her to be creative and my goodness, did she deliver! Delicious and creative appies, lovely main course, and all beautifully presented. I loved that Chef Liana introduced her staff to us and that each dish was explained. The chocolate pate with passion fruit gelee was the perfect end to our little feast. Most importantly, Dad felt he could not have had a nicer birthday dinner. Thank you, Chef Liana, the other chefs, Maria, the servers, and everyone who made our experience so memorable!
Over the past months since Trico Livingwell opened, Sharon and I have visited with six members of their team at very stages of planning the next move in our retirement. On one occasion, the Director of Health walked us through all of the steps to work with AHS even though they were a private residence. We then reserved a four day visit with our cat and were so impressed. On arrival, we were guided through the underground garage and met at the parking stall by Kelsey with a cart to help us get installed. Even other residents went out of their way to be welcoming. We met the General Manager who brought us a delightful Coffee plant for the suite and to take home. We had to leave early and they waved the fees. After six months of research, we are now two weeks away from moving into our new home. The ever-present help and guidance of Brandie and Cathy and every staff member we have met has made it such a smooth transition.
My Mom moved into Trico LivingWell just over a month ago and it has been wonderful. The building is so bright and welcoming and the staff are polite and accommodating - even with all of our questions and phone calls. Kelsey and Elma are very professional and made the move seem much less stressful than we had thought it would be. The staff knew my Mom’s name from the moment she arrived and were so great at helping her adjust to a new environment - which was a little scary for her because of her dementia. I can’t say enough about the staff and quality of care - it’s amazing.
