As with Parksville and other interior coastal locations, the climate here, coupled with the beauty of the area make this a very desirable place to live. Within that context, Berwick Comox Valley is itself a retirement destination, with superior features and amenities, a lively schedule of activities, and the tight-knit community that's found a home here.

Berwick Comox Valley lays the foundation for a positive, supportive community through the architecture and interior design as well as the location. Berwick understands that it’s difficult for people to leave behind their familiar home and neighbourhood, and with that in mind, they construct places that are superior in every way, to living in a family home.

For starters, the interiors here are replete with beautiful wood and stone. It’s a setting that encourages pleasant conversations, and you’ll often find people gathered in circles in the lounges, the pub, etc. The environment infuses people with good cheer. Other notable amenities include the rooftop lounge and the Berwick Theatre, an onsite movie house.

The community created by seniors and staff here is warm, friendly, and welcoming. The staff focuses on service first in their relations with residents. Live in a community like this, and you’ll find yourself revitalized.

This staff here is just fabulous. Fabulous. If there is a heaven on the planet, then I’m sitting in it. I tell people that are visiting or touring here, ‘If you join us, you’ll never regret it. Just as an example: we are having family here for a family celebration and we were looking at the wine list, and [a staff member] said ‘Mr. Denford suggests that you try this wine – it’s his favourite, and if you like that, you can have it for the same price as the next one we were going to go for that was less expensive.’ You know, you don’t get that very often – personalized service like that.

The big thing here is the staff. The waiters and waitresses – they are so good with elderly people. They are so patient. The staff are so marvelous. It’s not like you are institutional, they are so warm with you. You’re not a number sitting at a table at all. It’s just not like that here.
