Reviews of The Residence at Orchards Walk

Gain exclusive insight into life at The Residence at Orchards Walk. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

Moving here is a step into a new way of living that will improve your life in every way. You’ll be surrounded by a spectacular environment, in your suite, throughout the building, and in the community’s riverside setting. While there’s everything you’ll ever need onsite, you can add perks like discounts at local golf courses and restaurants. Kamloops and area residents will be awed by what’s available here, and what luxury you can afford.

The Residence of Orchards Walk features striking architecture, just the first feature you'll like. The cedarwood gazebo that centers this newly-built community’s main circular drive is just one part of the design and layout, one thing that many people mention concerning Orchards Walk. The exterior is a mix of natural wood grain beauty plus impressive use of colour design, a perfectly matched palette of red, navy and off-white. To complement the beautiful building, views of the South Thompson River and the nearby foothills are natural eye candy. Throughout the interior, the design theme contrasting wood and stone continues, and it’s stunning.

Suites here are some of the most spacious we’ve ever seen. The colour and design scheme is carried over here, so it’s just as beautiful as the rest of the building. The spaciousness of the suite feels more like an open-concept house than an apartment. People here rave about the amount of activities, though, so you're not likely to spend a lot of time in your suite. Everything about Orchards Walk works together to instill residents with a sense of peace and contentment, daily.

Very friendly and clean. Food is good. This is my new home can't think of why I would want to change it.

I have lived at the Residence since Jan 2019.....I absolutely love it ....It’s like living in a fabulous, fully equipped apartment in a first-class hotel...Our apts. have a full-sized fridge & stove, a dishwasher, a washer & dryer (in unit), high ceilings& great lighting. Included in our rent is weekly housekeeping, one meal a day...the suppers are really quality with 5 entrees to choose from....also included are beverages....incredible salads, soups& desserts....the amenities are second to none....a library, a theatre, a workshop, a party room, a full-time hairdresser, underground parking, storage units....beautiful outdoor eating area with fireplace& an abundance of flowers& landscaping....but probably one of the best things about the Residence are the people .....the staff are so friendly, helpful, upbeat & accommodating .....because it’s an independent living facility, the residents are young thinking, friendly, helpful, caring....there are many great activities....crafts, crib, shows, happy hours, entertainers, trivia, afternoon coffee & goodies....there’s NO designated seating at meal time so we have an opportunity to sit with, meet & get to know our neighbours....I feel like I already have a new family...I had no intentions of selling my home & moving in ....all it took for me was an open house soon as I saw what “THE RESIDENCE “ had to offer I knew this was where I wanted to be....the rest is glad I made the really is AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!

I love this place. From day one the staff always smile and respond to your needs quickly. The people who live here are very considerate and friendly. The food is fantastic, especially the soup dishes and variety of meals. Glad I chose this place.

I moved into The Residence a year ago and from the first day I have loved living here. Three reasons I chose The Residence were selective seating in dining room so I started sitting with whoever had a spare chair to meet as many of the people as I could and of course found a large group of people as friends. The staff is so friendly and helpful, I went away for five months and when I came back the manager, Jody, brought his truck down to the underground parking to boost my car. Who could ask for more? The choice of dinner and lunch menu is amazing and always tasty, the chef takes our suggestions seriously but really there is so much choice yo can always find something good to eat. The laundry in my room is the third reason I chose The Residence much handier than laundromat. It’s so much fun to go to dinner or the provided entertainment . We have movies on big screen with theatre seats and popcorn, exercise room (I haven’t personally used) large reception areas to entertain our families or guests. As you can tell I’m very happy with my choice to live at The Residence.

My parents live here and I'm really impressed. They are doing a great job keeping them safe.

Joan M., resident

We were impressed by the size of the suites and interior design of the whole building. The lounge on the 2nd floor and 4th floors really expand our space when we want to entertain. We were impressed with the structure and quality of furnishings.

Don and Mary Jo G., resident

Quality of construction & finishings, underground parking, rental policy, restaurant /dining room (meal a day included). We liked the fact that it was a rental, it kept our choices viable.

Helen M., resident

It is the equivalent of enjoying your own home minus the stress and costs of home ownership.
