Our Perspective

How we see Arabella Retirement Living

Numerous aspects of Arabella Retirement Living in Belleville are remarkable, but the standout for us is the luxurious suites that will form the center of the lifestyle change you’ll go through here. The fully contemporary designs are spectacular, noteworthy for the wonderful views of the Lake. Belleville seniors and their families should be excited for this wonderfully conceived project.

Opened in 2020, Arabella brings together all that is excellent about contemporary senior care and retirement living. This community is built and run by a local, family-owned-and-operated company, meaning that there's a personal touch to service here and a local feel to the building. There’s a palpable commitment to quality, and to the comfort and care of Belleville area seniors.

The vision here is to create a community-centered lifestyle focused on excellence, including the finest in dining, luxurious amenities, combined with the beauty of the local scenery. Of course, there will also be care available if needed. The availability of care, tailored to your needs, is the right answer for couples where one spouse requires some personal assistance. It’s also an ideal solution for downsizing GTA seniors who want to be closer to family in eastern Ontario.

Community’s Perspective

How Arabella Retirement Living sees itself

Who are you as a community?

Arabella Retirement Living is more than just a community – we are a family! The enjoyment our residents feel everyday from new experiences and making memories is second to none. We unquestionably put our residents first because we believe in them and have them each on their own pedestal. We thrive on an environment of mutual respect that can be embraced as soon as you walk through the door.

  • Opened in: 2020
  • Ownership: Private.
  • Languages Spoken: English

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

One never gets a second chance to make a first impression. The first thing you will notice is how much bright natural light we have from all the floor to ceiling windows in the lobby and throughout the main floor. The laughter and camaraderie among residents, staff, family and friends is like no other – we take the time to laugh together, hold hands or give a hug. We listen to the residents and develop new programs and menus according to their needs and desires. We enjoy our beautiful courtyard, eating outdoors at the BBQ, and having bonfires. We grow with, learn about and enjoy the students through our intergenerational program with a local school.

What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?

As each resident settles in at their own pace, we respond to their inquiries and questions promptly and efficiently. We introduce them to one of our community ambassadors who take them on a tour of the residence and introduce them to new friends. Luckily, the pool, dining room, library, bistro, auditorium, and other amenities, are all on the ground floor so it is very easy to get around giving piece of mind that new residents will find what they are looking for. We also offer trials stays for those who want to check us out before moving in.

What might residents find surprising about your community?

Laughter rings throughout our walls! Whether it be in the lobby/lounge, the dining room, the auditorium and in the hallways – a good vibe can be felt throughout. Staff members from ALL departments go above and beyond your expectations every shift. We, residents and staff, are ourselves which gives off a unique, diverse momentum that is experienced everyday. We listen. We are compassionate. We are awesome!

What five facts about your community should people know?

• Arabella is the one and only – we are locally owned and operated.
• Our residents cover 4 generations in age.
• We have a gender ratio of 2:1 for women and men.
• Some employees have been here since day 1, November 17, 2020.
• We use resident family favourite recipes.

Reviews of Arabella Retirement Living

What residents and their loved ones say about Arabella Retirement Living in reviews.

Dwight Brown, family member

"My mother has raved about the meals every time we have spoken. Especially with her being a good cook and a rather picky eater, this is a testament to the Arabella menu and chefs. Whenever I visit her, it brings me joy to see her being so well taken care of; with all the activities offered, especially the swimming pool. "

K. P., family member

"My mother moved here two months ago. The entire experience and transition into retirement living has been exceptional thanks to the team at Arabella. She loves it here, raves about how good the food is whenever we talk."

Mark Hall, family member

"I toured Arabella after a close family member had made a difficult decision that they needed to downsize. What a well thought out and complete facility with excellent programming already in place and fantastic views unlike any other option available in Belleville. We spoke with a couple of people that are already living there and they had great things to say about Arabella life. The staff that we met were very genuine and despite the facility being new, their experience came shining through. Top..."
