Perhaps a standout in this is the availability of a memory care neighbourhood, where residents with dementia receive the best care possible thanks to Schlegel's partnership with the Research Institute for Aging at the University of Waterloo.
A hallmark of life at The Village of Humber Heights is the village feeling. This residence is ideal for people who miss the old days when life was simpler, and who love to easily socialize with others. Like other Schlegel Villages, Humber Heights is built around the concept of an old-fashioned small town. Residents can walk down the main street to the town square, where there’s a library, an indoor café, a general store, a chapel and more. All of this creates, in fact, a cheerfully vibrant village centre where old friends meet up, chat and visit. The bonus, of course, is the presence of professional care staff.
Staff here focus on offering resident-centred care and on creating a community that feels a lot like an extended family. That’s built into Schlegel’s mission, thanks to being a family-owned company, with a focus on love above everything else. Our Becker Neighbourhood is available to those seeking the support they need in order to maintain their independence. Spacious apartments are available in this neighbourhood and include linen laundry and housekeeping, 2 meals per day, 24 hour access to nursing services and complete enjoyment of all amenities and events on Main Street. There are two types of assisted care neighbourhoods offered in our community. Our Williamsburg Neighbourhood (starting at $4,307) offers an all inclusive rate which includes all meals, medication administration, 24 hour access to nursing services, assistance with bath or shower once per week in a studio or one-bedroom suite with charming outdoor patio located on the Main Floor of the Village. Our Egerton Neighbourhood (starting at $5,261) offers a higher level of support for residents with a greater need for physical assistance, 3 meals per day, medication administration, 24 hour access to nursing services and a team dedicated to a higher level of service. Our residents living in our Egerton Neighbourhood benefit from a connection to the greater Schlegel Village and Main Street.
