Reviews of Chartwell Heritage Valley Retirement Residence

Gain exclusive insight into life at Chartwell Heritage Valley Retirement Residence. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

Chartwell Heritage Valley Retirement Residence offers senior living at the highest level. From the striking architecture outside through to daily care offered by staff, industry-leading expertise is on full display here. Heritage Valley is thoroughly contemporary in construction and design, with immaculate open-concept spaces throughout full of natural light, accented by modern decor. The highlight of life here, though, is the administration and staff here, and the community they create with residents.

The building is beautifully located, backing onto parkland and Cooper Pond. Amenities include a bistro and cafe, a TV room, and bountiful vibrant activities that add to the revitalization seniors feel once moving here. These include fitness classes, art classes, and pub afternoons, as well as social outings and more.

Chartwell’s spacious suites are beautifully well-appointed, with full kitchens, many offering private balconies. Dining is a great experience daily. You’ll find tasty meals that you have confidence in. There’s diversity in the menus and flexibility in dining times.

The key aspect, though, is that seniors here are happy here. You’ll see this in the small, joyful interactions you’ll witness as you walk through the building. That’s rooted in the wonderful staff here. They’re credited with being “competent, conscientious, and transparent in communication.” People are visibly enthusiastic about what they do, and there’s a down-to-earth quality to staff and administration here. They’re attentive to seniors’ needs, visibly enthusiastic about the work they do. The result is a family-like environment.

Families can trust loved ones to care here with full confidence. Warm and inviting on first impression, the experience only deepens over time. It’s a decision people feel good about–proud of, even–after making the commitment. You’ll find your trust in Heritage Valley deepens with time.

My 92 year old mom moved in to Chartwell Heritage Valley in September 2022 and it's been great for her but even better for me. My mom is in amazingly good health for her age, but I really worried about her living alone. She passes her driving test every year because she's an excellent driver still, but she really wasn't comfortable driving in the city. Now that she lives close by, I can drive her anytime and visit her much more often. Her place is lovely and big, and she has a lovely view of the local pond... She's really enjoying the meals. She was very isolated before but now she's taking part in many of the activities, especially the exercise classes.

For five years [our parents] lived in a beautiful south facing suite overlooking a tree lined pond and small walking trail. The entire staff is so friendly and caring. All questions are answered promptly by phone or email. The building is clean and spotless and there is laundry facilities on each floor. The dining room is well organized with delicious and nutritional meals. The social staff organized wonderful outings and in-house activities. Finally, we have a glowing review for the nursing staff -their compassion for their jobs and genuine concern for my parents was remarkable. We now feel like we have left family behind.

My mother has lived in Chartwell Heritage Valley for two years. Our family has been very pleased with the level of care that she has received from the Chartwell staff. We know she is safe, she is being served nutritious meals, she is receiving prompt medical care, she is being kept busy with a variety of resident activities, and she is growing friendships with both the staff and other residents. The staff does a great job of keeping us informed about issues with my mother that could be causes for concern. If you are looking for a supportive living arrangement for elderly family members I highly recommend you consider Chartwell Heritage Valley.

I moved to this location in October 2020 after having a few consultations with a young lady by the name of Linda Miller who was extremely helpful in helping me make the decision by providing several videos of suites as I was initially not allowed in the building because of Covid 19. Those restrictions were eventually lifted i came into the building and made the decisions what suite suited my needs. Since that time have not regretted my decision, having found the staff to be very caring and helpful in their jobs, the food served in the dining room is quite good and here again the servers are polite , and the service is good. The building is in good repair, clean, the location is very good, just north of a man made lake with shopping just across the street.

My mother became a member of the Chartwell Heritage Valley family a few months ago. I use the word family, because that is how this place feels. They have thought of EVERYTHING to keep residents safe and happy and entertained and the only appropriate word to describe the staff is 'angels.' The care, love, attention and concern staff display to residents AND their families is truly remarkable. I have so much faith and trust in the staff, as displayed by a medical emergency my mother recently had that was calmly and expertly handled, very quickly! 5 GOLD stars is not enough to reflect how I feel about this place.

I have never had a moment’s worry since moving my parents into the assisted living apartment at heritage valley. The staff is very kind and caring and interact with the residents playfully, yet respectfully. The food is well planned and the staff have worked so hard during the epidemic. They keepr everyone safe through to Christmas of 2020. They are conscientious and transparent in their communication and care. I feel fortunate to have my mom with such skilled and empathetic staff.

Having experienced a number of retirement homes and care facilities as my parents aged, I can say for certain that Chartwell Heritage Valley is the very best. I understand that large, corporate retirement homes may not have the best reputations, but my experience proves that Chartwell Heritage Valley is above the others. The facility is clean, safe and well-run, but of course this is simply what one would expect. However, the staff... all of the staff, are an exceptional group of care-givers. How they stepped up to the COVID crisis should be studied for future practice. They were way out in front of the pandemic, and continued to lead throughout. In your search for a retirement place for your loved one, I suggest you start at Chartwell Heritage Valley.
