Reviews of Oceana PARC

Gain exclusive insight into life at Oceana PARC. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

Liberation is a gift you give to yourself when you move into a community like Oceana PARC. Across Greater Vancouver, PARC Retirement Living's residences attract seniors with great attitudes who encourage each other to live their best lives. Oceana PARC helps boost the company's reputation for creating superior senior living.

Still very new, this community offers a lively community marked by very giving, generous community members. The location itself is world class, a few blocks from the shoreline, with clear views of Semiahmoo Bay. We love the bold colour palette of the interior, with lots of deep blues most noticeably, matching the name and vibrant feel of the community.

Staff here is very efficient, service-oriented, and accommodating. They help keep things lively in the community, through many activities and outings. You’ll feel safe and rejuvenated daily, thanks to the lifestyle created by the setting, the amenities, and the welcoming community of both staff and residents.

My mother moved in November [2022] and the 3 months have been amazing for her and our whole family. The suites are very well set up, the view and balcony open her world up. The staff is so efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Lots of social activities! The food options are wholesome, delicious and a wide variety. Security minded but never overbearing, we know that mom is safe but family and friends can visit daily. I couldn’t think of a better place and experience for us to have chosen.

I was just a visitor here but made to feel very welcome. Thanks to Sue Bolton, Activity Advisor and her enthusiastic staff. A friendly and very relaxing atmosphere. I can see why so many people call it home.

We moved my 87 year old mom into Independent Living at PARC Retirement Living. We were worried and she was scared...... Now, we are a month in and I have difficulty getting a hold of her. Why? Because she has relished PARC Retirement Living Oceana. Kirk Lively and the rest of the team at Oceana have welcomed her and made her feel at home. The activities are great, she attend fitness classes everyday, goes out on field trips to places that I have not seen. Her personal space is beautiful and while she misses her home- she doesn't seem to have much time to do so.

I am so glad to have made the decision to call Oceana Parc my home for the past month. During Covid I was not socializing and ended up quite depressed. If I want company here I can find it easilly enough. I have shared a table in the Dining Room with many Residents. You sit where you want and with whom you want to. You partake in activities if you want to. It's all up to you. If I have a problem all I have to do is talk to my Sales Representative Kirk and he takes the problem and solves it for me ... everything from my food allergies (they always make me something I can eat) to my blinds not closing correctly.

I can finally smile again! Life is great!

We have lived here now for 2 months and we know it was the right decision for us. Accommodations and views are wonderful, Food is excellent, many things to get in involved with. Staff make you feel so at home. This is our home now.! Very thankful for Bette and the attention she gave us when we came to view the suites. We love it.

My Dad just moved into Oceana PARC this week and I must say my Dad is very happy with the choice. He is from Campbell River and for him to make the move to White Rock was a big move, he was nervous to say the least. The staff is excellent and is doing a fantastic job at making him feel at home. The service is exceptional ... Mary Kay made a huge impression with a welcome gift sent to him a few weeks ago even sending my dads dog treats to enjoy.Mary Kay and the staff have gone the extra mile to ensure my dad feels at home “thank you”. My dad was not doing well at home he was lonely and not eating healthy, now he has delicious meals served to him daily and after he is finished his quarantine will be enjoying the company of the other residents . Today my dad thanked me for finding his new home for him, I know we made the right choice.....I was worried what a move into a seniors home would look like during COVID but I feel very confident my dad is safe as the safety procedures are well thought out.

What a lovely place to live. Amazing staff and food! INDEPENDENT living at it's best. My mom just moved here from Toronto and didn't like the idea of moving into a seniors residence. This is not your ordinary kind of seniors living. You can come down [and] eat and sit wherever you like... the food is first class... everyone is happy and friendly. They have a beautiful gym that offers many different classes, and art room, bridge, crib, bocce, a putting green, greenhouse and so much more. Some of the rooms have the most amazing ocean and mountain views. I would move in there in a heartbeat! It's well priced compared to the competition. Bette Hutchison, the sales manager, has gone above and beyond in making sure that my mom is happy. We highly recommend Oceana Parc and Bette Hutchison.

I’ve been part of the Oceana Parc Family since October 2019- and have loved every moment. The super-friendly staff appear to know every one of us by name even knowing our individual suite numbers. From administration to desk staff to chefs and waitresses, they greet each of us with many a bright hello throughout the day. Since I personally have such a hard time remembering names, I find this absolutely amazing and I have more friends than I could ever have imagined living alone in a condo.

Meals are fantastic, well-balanced, nutritious, varied and absolutely delicious. They compete most favourably with fare served in any restaurant I have eaten at in many a month. For each meal, we sit where we will and with whomever we choose. With so many happy faces, I try to sit with a different group at each serving. Conversations are generally lively no matter the group. Those who might wish to eat alone are also welcome to do so.

Activities at Oceana Parc are varied. Following months of relative inactivity since my wife’s illness and passing, I’m rebuilding muscles I’d sorely neglected over time. Throughout the week, we are offered invigorating sessions of Parc Fit in our state-of-the-art gymnasium by our very own professional fitness trainer. Residents can also participate in Circuit Training, Parc Stretch, Parc Yoga and Meditation and Mindfulness.. There are art classes, crafts, a drama club where we perform Readers’ Theatre, talent shows, singing for fun with many of the songs from our younger years, two grand pianos and an upright – all Heintzmans. We have memoir writing and sharing stories with our own published author, poetry reading and sharing, a jigsaw puzzle room, a gardening club with extensive flower beds and a greenhouse, billiards and card games, bridge groups, mah-jongg, movie nights and countless excursions. And then, to top it all off, we are frequently entertained by professional singers and combos. And if you get an owie on your finger, we have our own resident nurse.

So much to choose from. One may also elect to sit and socialize or take a book from our library, read the newspaper in any one of a number of comfortable lounges, go out for a walk, or watch television or read in the comfort of our own spacious rooms with high ceilings permitting the hanging of many favourite paintings. I still marvel at the fabulous views from my own rooms and wide balcony. Sunsets and the reflection from sunrise are spectacular over the bay.
