An established long-term care community, The Village is set to become a thriving community of seniors, as we’ve seen in other Schlegel communities across the province. There’s already an indoor cafe where friends meet, a library where readers relax or chat quietly by the fieldstone fireplace, a chapel, a general store, a community center, a greenhouse, a beauty salon and barber shop, and a hobby and craft room. The expansion will include a dining room called The Ruby, and a spa and salon called The Riverstone.
As much as Glendale Crossing feels like a small town, even more so, it feels like a place you want to call home, where you feel you can live very nicely. The opening of independent living and apartments will give seniors a place where they’ll find daily joy in many friends, all of them just outside the door of their suites. When you move to the Village you become part of an old-fashioned community that combines care for your neighbour with a focus on positivity, in a secure setting where everyone knows and trusts each other.
My mother Irene Reynolds was a resident in long term and she loved it there. The staff treated her with such kindness, support and more. She passed away in there and she was loved by staff and residents. I am now waiting for long term and Glendale Crossing is where I want to go to.—Wayne Reynolds, family member
My mum lived on the Westminster Neighbourhood for a year following her stroke before recently passing away. The regular PSW's , RPN's, and RN's are incredible and went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable, especially once we had to put her in palliative care. The food was very good, always with choice and accommodating to special requests. The physiotherapists kept her moving until that was no longer possible, and they offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities for the reside—Phil, family member

The physiotherapists kept her moving until that was no longer possible, and they offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities for the residents. They always made sure she was aware of what was going on, and would extend personal invites. She loved the spiritual program offered by Maureen, that was probably her favourite activity. Housekeeping was there every day, and they also take an active interest in the residents. Like most people mum did not really want to be there in the beginning but soon called it home and felt very lucky to live there.—Phil, family member
My husband has been there almost five years now. Brighton staff are excellent (caring, friendly). So glad I was able to get him in. He has issues that can be trying at times however all staff couldn't be better in handling it and keeping me well informed. There may have been past issues, prior to our arrival, however I highly recommend The Village of Glendale Crossing.—Jeanette Maloney, family member
The full service retirement community here—a complete continuum of lifestyle options from apartments through assisted living, memory care, and long-term care—means that couples with different needs can remain under the same roof, and those who anticipate changes in their care requirements need never move again.
