Our Perspective

How we see Golden Pond Retirement Residence

Ralph Villman and Lore Bieber offer a unique vision in retirement living, manifested in Golden Pond Retirement Residence, just an hour east of Oshawa. This community is ideal for the nature lover, the aspiring mystic, or anyone who simply loves peace and tranquility. It feels like a spiritual retreat you can call home, and indeed the ranch-style building will quickly become just that for you, surrounded by peers who love it here.

If space, fresh air, and serenity are things you crave more as you get older, Golden Pond is the place for you. Just seven minutes off the 401, this is a perfect location for someone looking to get (or stay) away from the traffic and bustle of the GTA. It’s also much more affordable than most GTA retirement homes.

In this setting, there’s a true family feel that includes staff and seniors here. The deep sense of faith that roots this community finds expression in daily kindnesses and staff’s compassionate attention to residents. Suites here are refreshingly homey, each with a deck that easily affords residents personal space outside in the quiet country setting. The gazebo and pond, as well as gardens and lively bird feeders, all add to the tranquility you will feel here. The hardwood flooring throughout, home-cooked meals, and the sheer spaciousness of the layout all add to the nostalgia for simpler times. And for all that, there are fine retirement home features like regular entertainment, daily activities, and multiple levels of care, including assistance with activities of daily living.

Reviews of Golden Pond Retirement Residence

What residents and their loved ones say about Golden Pond Retirement Residence in reviews.

Ken Allan, senior

"If there was ever a retirement home for me it would be the golden pond....the owners lore and Ralph run things the way a residence should. In a family atmosphere...nestled in an outdoor wilderness setting makes it a desirable sought after spot. Food...family...activities and love...its all found here. "

Kim Banks-Watson, family member

"Extremely beautiful HOME environment that welcomes resident and family immediately. Large, spacious and warm environment inside and out. Picture perfect landscaping makes you feel like you could be on holiday. Staff are part of your family, very kind, knowledgeable, experienced and patient. If you have no choice but to have retirement care for your loved one, THIS is the place they would choose for themselves. I sleep better at night knowing my Great Aunt is being cared for here."
