Our Perspective

stories

Scarborough Retirement Residence is close to the Beaches area and downtown Toronto, making it that much more appealing for family to visit. With its air purification indoors and fresh Lake air outside (among other factors!), this place is ideal for those who are focused on improving their health and living in a healthy environment. And the food is excellent!

This residence combines proximity to the heart of Toronto, with a down-home feel, due to its being family owned. This is a relatively small community where people care for each other; residents have the option of being as open or as private as they want to be. You can take retirement living for a test drive, thanks to short term and respite care stays. Security is provided through overnight staff.

Chef-prepared meals, physiotherapy and daily enrichment programs are just some of the home's features that make life here especially great. The community extends care holistically through onsite spiritual programming. The pet-friendly environment has also been shown to have benefits for psychological wellbeing. Group outings include movies and day visits to a variety of attractions.

Community’s Perspective

We asked Scarborough Retirement Residence to answer the following questions:

Who are you as a community?

Scarborough’s Premier Boutique Retirement Community is a family owned and managed residence that offers seniors the opportunity to maintain their independence. Reviews of Scarborough Retirement Residence

Karen Fraser, family member
"What I liked about Scarborough when I first sort of visited it was it's a smaller community and I felt that there was more of an opportunity for my mum to feel part of a family versus getting lost in the crowd... Scarborough Retirement Residence bills themselves as a boutique senior residence and I consider it as such. There's very much a family feel when you enter the residence. And in terms of the ownership and management team, I feel that they're really first class... Mom has a greater lev..."

Darryl Cooper, family member
"My mom has been a resident at SRR for close to 3 years. This place is extremely well run and puts the care and comfort of its residence first. The staff are very kind and empathetic and this approach is seen at every level of the organization. From the ownership to the facility support person the residents are the number one priority. This last year during the pandemic has been extremely difficult for all seniors homes but I’m happy to say my mom and her fellow residents have been kept safe an..."

Marion, resident
"I've made many friends here. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else."
