This place is obviously ideal if you love golfing or want to settle close to family in Oakville, but there are also a variety of onsite quiet places that allow residents time for personal space. These include The Greenhouse Potting Room, the Serenity Spa and personal massage facilities. The community's excellent ambassador program helps new community members feel right at home. Residents we've spoken to enjoy Glen Abbey's gardening activities outside, and exercise room inside, among other amenities. It's an elegant experience, in both shared spaces and the privacy of your suite.
Like other Delmanor retirement communities, Glen Abbey makes exceptional the rule. This community treats residents like royalty, respectful of the fact that people have often spent their lives serving others. For staff here, working in a retirement residence is an opportunity to give back to those people, the mature adult residents who move here. Staff and residents clearly enjoy each other's company here.
Aside from its proximity to the world-renowned golf course, there's a wealth of arts and culture in the area of this community, including the Oakville Museum, Oakville Galleries, and the Centre for the Performing Arts. This community features a wide variety of fun and interesting outings for residents to partake in.

Delmanor is a beautiful retirement home, which backs onto a treed, quiet area, where you can enjoy nature. The facility itself has just been totally redone and it is very bright, modern and a welcoming place to live. The staff are friendly, caring and very helpful. I enjoy the wonderful, varied entertainment, the excursions and the daily social activities that take place The meals are excellent and the dining room staff is very accommodating. The rooms/suites are spacious and very well maintained. There are a variety of lovely areas in which to read, socialize, play games, exercise, watch movies, play pool etc. Everything you need to live a carefree, happy life in your retirement years, is right here under one roof. I've been a longtime resident at Delmanor and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Staff in this place is wonderful. They’ve gone out of their way to do all kinds of things to make things happier and easier for us.
Our family is very grateful for the extra care, however hard it was on families, how strict the procedures were in ensuring that no one found a way around the system.
I felt perfectly safe [in quarantine]. It didn’t worry me at all. They still take our temperature morning and afternoon, and I think that’s great. It gives you peace of mind!
The outdoor garden was a surprise, a nice one. There are two raised beds in the back which when you get older you can't bend down. There's also a green room, and I like that. But it's really the people I like the best. It's just like a cruiseship on land that's all I can tell you.
I was very impressed by the gardens when I first came here ... not too many other retirement residences have that. My friend complains that I'm never available on the phone, and I said that's because there are always things to do here! We have a calendar here and if you want to you can be busy all the time. I've got no regrets at all about moving here.
It was hard to leave [the home we owned], but
[my husband] couldn't do things around the house anymore ...
Not having to cook meals gives me more time to do things with
him
Staff is friendly, caring and always helpful. The building itself is very clean and well-maintained year round.
