Our perspective

A sure sign of an exceptional community is long-term commitment on the part of residents. At StayWell Manor you’ll always find a number of residents who have lived here for five, seven, ten years, or longer. Many of those people will tell you that they’ve loved their entire time here and The Manor has become their home. What’s more is that staff turnover here is also low. Calgary seniors and families looking for a place to thrive need to take a close look at this community.

At this community, the care and atmosphere springs from deep values. They care for and about others. When you witness interactions between staff and residents, you see professionals making sure that other people are not only well, but happy. This also comes out in food service, the full schedule of daily activities, the maintenance of bright, clean interiors, and so much more.

It’s remarkable to us how many different aspects of this home can be called out for special commendation. Friendships form and foment among independent living seniors thanks to the quality of events and outings, where they have “just such a nice time together.” Memory care here is presided over by patient, diligent staff going above and beyond to ensure the wellbeing of those in their care. In interactions with family, staff members are consistently positive and informative. Many people moving here are amazed at the lifestyle change, where they’re freed from “everything from eavestrough cleaning to car payments,” giving them a fresh take on life.

After bilateral knee replacement, I convalesced at Staywell Manor Village for a couple of weeks. The care I received at Staywell was excellent. I appreciated it when I was staying at Staywell, and I was even more thankful for it when I went home. The suite was roomy and very comfortable, the food was incredible, and when I needed help, it appeared with the push of a button. When I reacted to my medication, I got advice from an RN (Joseph) and an LPN (Sanu) right away, and I was able to see the in-house doctor (Dr. Arcega) the next day. Amazing!

I don’t think we could have picked a better spot for my 95 year old father to transition from his home where he lived independently. He participated in many activities at StayWell enjoying the company of his fellow residents and remained active until his final day at age 98. She had many complex health care needs, which were all managed extremely well - and this continued when she moved to memory care for the last six months.
