Active living truly is a communal experience at Garrison Green. People discover new passions here thanks to the many in-house programs. That includes art classes, fitness programs, and in-house classes and presentations by Mount Royal University. There’s also a lot of music here, including performances by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Honens, and the Calgary Jazz Orchestra. Garrison Green is positively vibrant.
It’s a community where you want to join in, no matter what your abilities. We heard from people who tell us they still enjoy learning something new every day, and they can do that here. You’ll also see people who just love making new friends and deepening their current friendships in the lounges and shared spaces here.
Garrison Green is inclusive in its vibrancy. Their United Minds program integrates those who are living in memory care. This is not only beneficial for those with dementia but also for everyone living here who becomes part of an integrated community and can spread love to those dealing with dementia. As one senior here tells us, “There’s just a wonderful feeling of community here.” Staff here are a big part of that community, and they administer care with genuine care and love.
On top of all of that—or perhaps a deeper aspect of all that—dining here is restaurant quality food. Does life get any better than eating well together with good people? We’re also very impressed with the size of the suites at Garrison Green. These are actually spacious apartments that people quickly come to love as their new home.
This is an example of how private ownership foments unique programming that enriches the lives of people. It’s the true state of the art in senior living, and creating great senior living is an art, as seen in Garrison Green. Many of the people you hear from here will tell you that moving in was an excellent decision and has been a wonderful experience.
Exceptional community! My mom and dad have lived there since 2013. The staff treats them with such kindness. It's as if my parents were their parents. Thank you very much, Garrison Green! I am so fond of this place that I volunteer there, showing movies and leading sing-a-longs with my dad.—Laurie Dolph, family member
