There’s so much we like about The Meadows of Aurora. These are beautiful buildings set in a newly built neighbourhood surrounded by rich greenspace, including ponds and walking trails. While it’s only an hour away from the cultural mecca of Toronto, you don't need to go anywhere to enjoy every moment of life. Onsite there are recreation facilities, a wellness center and fitness studio, store, and fun activities. Newly added amenities include a library, bistro, and more.

The campus includes beautifully appointed independent living suites, a dining room, natural pond, walking trail, 25 acres with protected woodlands, concert hall and conveniences that include a salon, café, lounge and wellness centre. Three lifestyle options are available - independent living, assisted living and memory care

What do you do differently or uniquely well?
The Meadows of Aurora is a one-of-a-kind retirement residence located thirty minutes north of Toronto in the town of Aurora. Our resort style campus sits on 25 acres with over half of the property protected forest. An amazing backyard patio, large natural pond, walking trails and neighbouring wetlands provide residents an experience like no other. Our Christian foundation is the root of our core values that include creating a loving community, respecting each other and ensuring all residents are able to age with dignity.
What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?
Our community life, resident services, facilities, housekeeping, finance, health and food services teams work together to ensure your move-in experience is smooth. Our 600 residents and regular community activities provide lots of opportunities for new residents to establish new friends.
What might residents find surprising about your community?
Following a church service in 2004, sitting around the kitchen table at a member’s home, several couples gathered to discuss the idea of a new faith-based retirement community. The vision was to provide seniors in the Aurora area an opportunity to remain close to church, family, friends and healthcare. Six years after the start of the development process, groundbreaking took place. Two years later, the first residents took possession of their new home. Today, The Meadows of Aurora is one of the largest and most modern retirement residences in Canada.

"It’s hard to say how many new friends we’ve made since moving here. After you get to see people a couple of times it seems like everybody is your friend. Walking is a big thing here. Right behind the phase 2 building, there’ s a pond that’s really nice. They put a paved around it with benches and lights and umbrellas. You can’t walk around that pond too often without meeting new people from the new building. We get to know people there and do our best to make them feel welcome.
